why is no one helping me?!?!

1. Don't bump your post/ doublepost. WAIT!
2. There's a reason why noone answers. Provide more information! E.g. you can show us the log, provide hardware/software information, tell us if you use a router ...

Re: Cannot connect to....anthing

Err..

1) You cannot connect to anything....
2) You don't have internet
3) You're trying to use a multiplayer game primarily aimed for internet play?

Am I missing something here?
If you don't have internet, your only chance of getting something to connect to is to run a server yourself within your network. There's plenty of documentation on how to do that.

But I get a feeling you do have internet but you can't get Teeworlds to use it?
Please describe the problem in more detail, ie:

* What is it you consider don't work? Do you get nothing in the list of servers? Or do you get servers to connect to but when clicking connect there's a problem? If so, what's the message you get? Etc etc...

Example: I had problems with the filter; said "no server match your filter criteria". Paying attention to that message and that it says "0 of 461 servers" at the bottom leads to the conclusion that I unintentionally filter out servers. I know I didn't enter anyting on purpose, it was the first time I fired 0.5.1 up. Turns out I had some characters in the "Game types" dialog. How they got there I don't know but removing them and selecting appropriate options got me a nice list of servers.

Conclution: Posting a message saying "I cannot connect" would not have given me any usable answers. Paying attention on what I try to do, and what response the game gives me in terms of messages and behavior will. And if not, describe it here at the forums...

Re: Cannot connect to....anthing

Right sorry, well I dont have internet but all my friends do. I go over to their houses and we all play online games together.
Ok what happens is the last thing you said. There are no severs appearing in the list. After my classes today I shall talk a look to see if any filters are on, like you said.
Thanks for dealing with me.

Re: Cannot connect to....anthing

Please provide further information:

  • Do you get an Internet connection over at your friends?

  • Can you connect to an internet page? e.g. this one?

  • Open a game and type "94.23.7.37:8340" (This server normally is available. Don't wonder, it's running WAR3 mod, which is played differently to the normal game. I just don't have an IP of a normal server available right now) in the textfield next to connect. Then press connect. Write the appearing message in your reply.

  • Start teeworlds out of a console and post the content. For easier reading put the text in [ code]blablabla... blablabla... [/ code] (without spaces)
