Topic: [Forum Suggestion] Offtopic Area

Hi,

I just saw the poor FireArrow again deleting spam and searching bad spammer-guys like me.
This community is kinda big and the server are strong enough to hold a little Non-Teeworlds-Related area, don't you think so, too?

There should also be rules. It's not a spam-area, it's an OFFTOPIC area.

Yeah, this is a Teeworlds forum, but nearly every Forum has an area for the community.

Let's call it "Community-Playground". Hehe.

What d'ya think about this? smile

EDIT: Btw, only 1 thread for offtopic disscussion isn't good, I think.

Re: [Forum Suggestion] Offtopic Area

The teeworlds.com server cost money. You are not in your dreams and matricks & devs are not printing money. Use other sites for spamming and have fun with it; we (i donate yesterday xD ) dont donate money for nothing. This is TeeWorlds forum, not spamming/off topic forum, where you can discuss about anything. This is TeeWorlds forum, not community playground. You was not donated one euro for TeeWorlds, donate or create your own server with community playground forum.

Re: [Forum Suggestion] Offtopic Area

i think its a good idea because if we could spam on a special Playground, we won't spam other topics!

Re: [Forum Suggestion] Offtopic Area

There once was a "flaming thread" which was some kind of off topic area.
It got deleted soon, because i always won at flaming others, and they reported it to the mods cause they got sick of losing all the time..

I have to agree with khubajsn here, except that donating makes u the king of teeworlds.

Anyway, who wants to spend his time gaying around in offtopic area, while he can be constructive and give some feedback on other serious threads.
Just follow my example.

Re: [Forum Suggestion] Offtopic Area

I wanted a subforum or something like that. Btw, Khubajsn, "The teeworlds.com server cost money".

Wtf? An additional subforum doesn't cost anything. You just go into the Admin area, you choose "Settings" or something like that and you add another subforum. It was like that at our clanforum and at other forums, too.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Okay another suggestion: An (only 1) offtopic thread without flaming and without spamming?

EDIT: @Khubajsn: And please, don't act that pissed off. I asked a normal question and your answer came like I would be stupid. Btw, you don't know what you are talkin' about. Look at the first part of my post. It has NOTHING to do with money.

Yeah it's true that I haven't donated anything. Why? I'm 15 and my parents don't allow. Do you think that I don't donate because I think it wouldn't help?! I would donate if I was allowed to.

Just f*** you. -.- You don't know anything.

Re: [Forum Suggestion] Offtopic Area

This is a nice example of a thread without flaming and spam, right Hooker ? Just check how many of your posts get downvoted on a daily basis. Why does this happen ? I have an idea for you. Every time you want to post something stupid, meaningless, or something less than 10 characters, post it here instead of the topic you wanted to reply. U could save a lot of hassle, thats the best thing you can 'donate' to this community.

We will meet again when the flowers spread their glorious scent of victory and the birds sing us the melody of justice...

Re: [Forum Suggestion] Offtopic Area

I don't see why making an off topic-subforum would help Teeworlds. But I seriously see you guys can't behave. Stop the spamming and act as people.

A subforum like this would only bring users that don't have anything to do into the forum and sit around spamming there all day. This is not relevant to the game, or the site, so start flaming at another forum, please.

1. We have already too much spam, giving it a topic we would only trigger an even bigger response.

Hooker wrote:

2. The community is indeed quite large, but most off-topic material only comes from a select group of people who don't seem to get that their input isn't welcome on this forum.

Hooker wrote:

3. More rules to control these off-topic areas would mean more work for the moderators, and they've plenty of other things to do.

Hooker wrote:

4. I don't think we want the Teeworlds forum to become similar to many other forums, we need it to stand out for it's quality. Allowing off-topic material will therefor be counter-productive.

6. In a perfect world this forum shouldn't deserve any spam at all, even not when it would be channeled through a specific forum. Instead of people screaming "USE SEARCH" people would just scream "SPAM IN OFF-TOPIC". (which would then also be spam, resulting in even more spam)

7. Will you take the unhappy task of assuring it stays free of flaming and spamming? I really don't think the moderators want to spend even more time on maintaining the forum, especially for something as irrelevant as off-topic material.

The internet is so big that there are more places to spam then there are trees in the rain forest. Better spend your time saving the trees then to dishonor a quality forum like this one.

Dear hooker.
You are 15? I am 12. TeeWorlds is free game, and you can donate to support it. But you must not donate. You can play it, too. I think the TeeWorlds is best online multiplayer game. If you donate or not donate is not important for anybody. It has NOTHING to do with money? Devs must pay the server (place on it), domain and much more. If every member of forum post a off topic, no teeworlds related post everyday, server may close now. Do you know the post and members num? Yes, okay. I will not speak about this later. How Somerunce said, your suggestion may not help TeeWorlds. Sorry.

For those who don't know the story, there are some minor errors in AMNs story, and I intend to correct them before I close this thread.

The "flaming thread" was an ironic thread started by me in a time when all the moderators was inactive. As soon a flamewar broke loose I linked to the thread and asked them to continue it there. This turned out to work pretty well, and most of the times the flaming stopped.

All this took place before me and Chi11y was moderators and in a time when the community was getting restless as nothing had happened for a while. Not to long after that however me and Chi11y joined as moderators, and the flaming-thread was no longer needed. I was the one deleting it to give a more professional appearance of the forum. It is the official support forum after all.
