Topic: Ping in LAN went up from 5 ms to 20 ms

Hi,

we play Teeworlds via LAN.
In 0.4.3, I always had a ping of about 5 ms.
Now, with 0.5.0, it went up to 20 ms.

I'm using the Windows version. PC is very powerful (Quadcore, GeForce 8). There is no firewall.

Never trust that in game ping counter to be accurate. It's an estimate that can be quite off by up 20ms.

I am from the same group as ThomasRiker.

While the in-game ping counters can be quite off, it is still noticable that the pings of the windows clients went up to around 20ms after 0.5.0, while the linux kept their ping at ~5ms.
Not that it would really affect gameplay under LAN conditions, but I suspect that there *may* be a bug, and that it could have more serious (read: annoying) implications if playing online.

I figured out that the reason was V-Sync. 20 ms is 1/60 of a second + some normal lag. So nothing to worry about, indeed.

Uhmmm, when v-sync is enabled i recognise that my pings are rounded multiples of 16,5ms.
