Topic: [IDEA] Ammo Drop Mod

Overview

Have you ever raced another player from the opposing team to a weapon? Only to lose the race and the weapon. In anger, you try to kill him...you hit, and the player dies? You get frustrated that he took 10 shots of ammo with him? This has happened to me tons of times. That is why I thought of this mod. When a player with leftover ammo dies, their ammo falls out of them right before they disappear, leaving it for the killer to take.


Why?

-In real life, when you kill somebody with a gun ( <--don't try this), their gun doesn't evaporate. It stays there for you to take. By implementing this into the game, it will become more realistic. It will also add some fairness to the game. When a player with all the ammo of an area dies, the killer mustn't wait for it all to spawn again.

I don't want this to turn out like most of the other IDEAs, just being forgotten after the initial reading. If you think you can do this, post a reply. Please tell me what you think of my idea.

Mmmm, can i ask how do you know that ? I'mean, I dont know i havent killed anybody ..


Regarding for the idea, I dont like it. The weapon respawn time is 20s, so it is not that drastical to lose a race for a weapon; Controlling the items in the game is an important aspect, this modification would turn things upside down, and good players would never run out of ammo, which means theyll never stop the pwnage, which means theyll never run out of ammo, etc. Plus it adds unnecessary complexity.

We will meet again when the flowers spread their glorious scent of victory and the birds sing us the melody of justice...

This could be a good idea, but it would require some measurements to prevent the good people from getting an upper hand in a game:

* Picking up a dropped weapon should only give 2 ammo at most
* You might think about increasing the regular weapon respawn times
* What if you kill someone when he has the katana, will it drop and can you pick it up?
* This could work better if you already start with a certain amount of weapons.

As in Unreal Tournament:
You get all ammo that was in weapon at the moment of dropping (if it had full ammo - you will get full ammo. If there were no ammo - you will get no ammo)
Powerups must drop too, but their time is decreased (for example: katana works 50 seconds. One tee used it for 23 seconds and died. When someone takes that dropen katana, he will get it for 27 seconds)

The God is real, unless declared as integer

Maybe you can provide more detail so that if it is a minor problem, I can think of a way around it. I like the points DemonGloom brought up. I agree with what he said.
