Topic: Server on Ubuntu 64bit - GLIBC_2.4 missing?

Hello all,

i tried to host a server on my rootserver.

I just dled the teeworlds 0.5.0 and after that i copied the teeworlds_srv and /data/maps/dm1 to a seperate folder so i have it stand alone.

Ok now i did this:

root@m62s24:/home/q23p/server/teeworlds# ./teeworlds_srv -f teeworlds.cfg
./teeworlds_srv: /usr/lib/libz.so.1: no version information available (required by ./teeworlds_srv)
./teeworlds_srv: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by ./teeworlds_srv)
root@m62s24:/home/q23p/server/teeworlds#

I checked the errors, i got libc-2.3.6.so and libc.so.6,
I also got  libz.a libz.so libz.so.1 and libz.so.1.2.3
Probably its a problem with glibc that is 2.3.x and should be 2.4?
Can someone give me an aptitude to update glibc? last time i did it manually i kinda fcked up my server smile.


That means i need an update of WHAT package and HOW without producing errors in system?

Or is there a way to run it with libc-2.3.6?

Need help immediatly, trying to set up servers for a kinda big community!

And btw i tried libc6 apt-get:

root@m62s24:/usr/lib# apt-get install libc6
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
libc6 is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 43 not upgraded.

my hoster prefers to use this lol 0_o.

Is there a  clean way to run teeworlds servers on it smile?

I can compile for it when I get home. I should have done this when I compiled the others but I forget. I get home in about 14 hours. I'll fix it then and upload the binaries for it.

Or you can take a gamble a compile everything ourself.

You can now find versions compiled with an older version of glibc that should work. Look at the download page at http://www.teeworlds.com/?page=downloads

Lets see what libssp is.

Okay i got libss. but not with P. Which package is needed there hmm.

This is probably the thing i need. but where the f*** should i add it so teeworld server gets it?

For f sake! One error solved another appears!...

I punched the libssp.so.0 into lib, lib32 (which is same as lib xD?) and lib64. AND IT STILL DARES TO TELL SHT LIKE:

./teeworlds_srv: error while loading shared libraries: libssp.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

rawr its making me crazy!

So ok uhm what is the file or directory he is looking in / for, matricks?

Ive put it into all libs, dont work.

i need help pls smile.

Need to host the servers at home all the time o_o.(ubuntu 8.10).

Is there a package whre the ssp is in?

You need to compile it for yourself. I don't have time to install ubuntu 6.06 in a vm and do all the work. Sorry.

I made a video tutorial for compiling from source big_smile.

I uploaded 0.5.1 and bam onto my website caus bam "raw" etc. was making problems with wget.
