Topic: Lag intolerance & sound bug in 0.5.0

Hi,

1st problem:

I wasn't able yet to enjoy 0.5.0 because it's virtually unplayable for me now. I'm on wireless lan with a fairly high distance and some walls between the router and myself. Nevertheless I could play 0.4.3 quite smoothly. There was a tiny bit of delay between me shooting a weapon and the server recognising it, but I could adapt to that quite well. Also there were some quirks with the movement prediction (e.g. client thinks for a second, the hook reached the wall when in fact it didn't) due to the unstable latency. Nevertheless I was able to navigate through the maps very fast and come up as one of the best player in every ctf match.

Now in 0.5.0 it's a huge difference. The movement (hooks, weapons, enemies) just stalls every odd second completely so I'm unable to move 50-90% of the time. Teeworlds now seems to be absolutely intolerant to my subpar connection.

The ping to my router (ping -t 192.168.0.1) fluctuates between 1 and 4ms most of the time, sometimes it spikes.
I'm getting sporadic "prediction time reset" (average: once every two seconds) in the console.
I can play no problems on localhost (of course).
I'd be glad to provide more specific information on this.

2nd problem:

The sound echos. It's like every soundbite gets played 5 times almost at once. I had that problem only occasionally in 0.4.3 (maybe once in 10 hours or so), now it's constant.
The problem disappears when reducing audio sample rate to 22050.

I'm on WinXP SP3+Updates on "VIA VT8366A Apollo KT266A" (Chipset) and "U.S. Robotics Wireless MAXg USB Adapter" playing 0.5.0.

Something else I just noticed: When you launch the game with your old cfg which does not contain the keybindings for vote y/n, teeworlds does NOT fill them in automatically. This leads to the fact, that 90% of the players out there won't have bindings for y/n, rendering the vote system virtually ineffective, because the majority does not bother to edit their key bindings nor do the vote with Esc+Mouse.

Re: Lag intolerance & sound bug in 0.5.0

I can confirm that 0.5.0 is a lot more "laggy" than 0.4.3.
Even with a normal DSL connection via LAN, no WLAN.

I think this has todo with that I corrected a bug which in it's turn made other bugs show up. I'm looking into this for 0.5.1
