How about collectable vampire teeth?

Changes your Tee into a vampire for X seconds (same duration as Ninja) and the attack action should look the same as the Ninja, but it would have an obviously different effect.

Any tee hit loses X life points and the vampire tee gains X life points, if the targeted tee has any armor then it also loses Y armor and the vampire tee gains Y armor.

Possible values, X=3, Y=1 ?

Ok I have read some poropositions, some of them are good, but PLEASE don't "overweapon" this game. I like this game cuz it's so simple, just hammer, gun and hook. If you will add Super Magicial Shields, Mega Rocket Launchers and Nuclear Bombs, this game will be SCREWED UP! Let's take for example last proposition - Drain. In order for this to be useful, ppl would have to have a lot of HP, while this game has quick actions (if you have full armor, they are twice longer) and there will be no time to drain ...
This is my view, and you don't have to agree tongue

No need to worry. This thread is about weapon suggestions, and we're fairly bloat-resistant in the dev team. Just keep posting your ideas, and we'll separate the gems from the turds.

Damn ... does that mean all the suggestions without comments from dev's, could be seen as bloat which you dev's have resistant?

My Thoughts on Weapons:

Machine Gun
- Cant be fired while moving
- Damage decreases the further away from the fire point (maybe 3 damage up close decreasing to 1 damage far away)
- Lots of ammunition

Sniper Rifle/Railgun
- Long-range bolt
- Inflicts 8 damage upon hit
- Limited ammunition (only 3 shots)

Land Mines
- Self explanatory, really
- Mines detonate and inflict 2 damage when enemy Tee gets too close
- No remote detonation or timer, only detonate on proximity to enemy Tee

How about grenades? it would be awesome if you could make that happen.
Sticky grenades like the ones in halo 3 that would be so cool.
And when you get stuck by one of those you die all your life.

PLASMA RIFLE(Quake 3)

+does high amount of damage,almost instakill
-takes long tome to reload

Pulse Rifle

- low/med damage
- tees get thrown back (just a little bit, but more, when they are in air)


Afterburner

- Flamethrower down/backwards
- med damage
- gives light boost in the air


Electro-Fieldgun

- makes a short area of walls/ceilings/floors for a preset time (around 10sek or so)
- hooks hitting the electric field don't grap and the tee gets light damage
- can also work when the hook is already in the wall/ceiling/floor


nevermind if this weapons are mentioned before, i was too lazy to read the whole topic ^^

here's another one:


Shield:

- useful for teamplay
- protects up to 20 damage
- tees can't shoot while using the shield
- shield a bit larger than tees so that other tees can hide themselves behind it

i mean a shield in the classic style, net a power-shield or so... just a wooden shield or something like that wink

The idea of a shield is good, but maybe the shield should protect the tee "forever" and not only 20 damage. And i think the tee should move more slow, even the mouse gestures should be slower, or some sort of delay.


Then the shield maybe shouldn't protect against hammer?

if the shield protects forever ctf will be impossible wink 3 or 4 tees defending the flag with shields and the attackers have no chance... that's why i think the shield should have a limit in health or time

I agree with you, but not entirely. As long as the shield has some weekness I don't think it should have a health limit. What is it took 1-2 seconds to turn around or switch to a weapon, during that tie the shield-tee is pretty defence-less and easy to kill.

To get it right takes a lot of tweaking, but i still think it should have a damage limit.

My suggestion is Sticky pod luncher.
(my ulgly concept xD {Work in progres, but i haven't Photo shop, maybe my friend Lauri will help...})

I was just thinking of that. If people really wanted a variety of different weapons, a way around "overweaponing" this game would be to offer a bunch of weapons, and the server only spawns certain ones (a select few). There are so many interesting weapon ideas.

This also opens the possibilities to having a certain weapon-only duel servers. And it also means every server you join could be different, which might be interesting.

Anyway, even if you did this, I wouldn't add too many weapons. Twenty would be high enough. And of course, this presents an issue with weapon spawning in levels, I believe.

I'm not sure I was very clear with my post. Let me translate:
There could be a total of, say, 15 total weapons. A server or map gives players access to only a few of these weapons from 0-6. (Whether it is the server or the map that decides what weapons are available is up to the developers.) For example, currently maps have set places for weapon "spawns" for different weapons. Different maps could give access to different weapons: some of them, all of them (ahh!!), or zero or one of them.

I'm not sure I really like my idea. But I thought I'd throw it out there. There are so many interesting weapon ideas, but I don't think the game should be overcrowded with weapons. Take, ponder, or leave the idea.

i understand what you mean - Like leaving out a few weapons. Still, the bottom line of what youre saying is that you would like to see a total of 20 or so weapons in the game. That means that there would be 16 more weapons that each player needs to master to be good at the game.

Consider my list:

Current Weapons
- Grenade Launcher
- Shotgun
- Pistol
- Hammer
- Katana

New Weapons
- Sniper (Low rate of fire, high damage)
- Laser Gun (Rapid rate of fire, low damage)
- Bio Rifle (low rate of fire, timed, explosive projectile)
- Nail Gun/Plasma Gun (medium rate of fire, low damage)

These weapons have variety, theyre simple, and they arent difficult to master. Mappers can choose to have any weapon on his/her map - or to leave them out - and everybody sits back in admiration of slightly deeper gameplay smile

Maybe, crossbow with explosive arrow, or something like sniper rifle (Low rate of fire, high damage). I think crossbow is good idea for Teewars because crossbow is not "overweapon" and is cute like Tee. smile

How about a Homing bomb?
I don't mean like really overpowered, but maybe something that fires a bomb that flies for 
x seconds and heads towards the nearest target while doing so, then explodes, doing y damage. Also, if it passes someone else who is closer than the current target, it will follow them, and it can attack the person who fired it.

-I'd say none of Matrick's weapons (first post) is appropriate to include in the game. Sorry, man.
-Laser scope? What will it work with? Every weapon in this game has ballistic effect!
-Bouncing ball ... sounds nice smile
-Cleanser - to brutal. Imagine tihs - You are just going to shoot some bastard with your shotgun, when someone takes that thing.
-I think sniper rifle (including scope) is the only one gun, that should be added. Others will make the game to complicated.
-My proposition : cloak. It would make you and your weapons invisible for some time. Bullets and rope should be visible, or it will be too powerful.
