Topic: [IDEA] Ammo signals

Hi all.
I had a few ideas to the coming version TeeWorlds:
1) Automatic no-Ammo next weapon selecter
Just where the bullets came, would automatically set another weapon. If they are not in any arms rounds, and chose the hammer.
2) Only some Ammo left
If left only a few rounds of ammunition, could the remaining flash cartridge or something, I noticed that there hub
3) Sorry for bad english in this post, i used google translator for this

I'll try to explain them in other way big_smile

1)Automatically select other weapon when you run out of ammo.
When you run out of ammo (ammo == 0), the next weapon with ammo is selected. If you haven't got any weapon with ammo, then the hammer is selected.

2)"Low ammo" notification.
When you have only a bit of ammo (ammo < 4), you have a notification in the HUB (I think he says the crosshair or something).

MY OPINION:
I agree with the second idea, I think it's very useful! But I think the 1st idea may be optional, so you can choose if you want it or not.

Don't like the first idea. It simplifies macro abuse. The second is more appropriate, if one could specify the threshold in the control options. But knowing about your ammo and switching weapons is one of the easy tasks.

I'm with Lappi on this one. Keeping track of your ammunition is a skill and taking it out would do more bad than good for experienced players. You should be happy enough the out-of-ammo click sound is there, heh. smile

I agree with KRD.
It's a part of the game to know or "feel" your ammo-status, and in my opinion an important one.

I agree that auto-switch to the next weapon with ammo would be too big simplification, but it could switch only to the hammer.

I agree with both of these points. I can't see these features giving anybody that big of an "advantage". It's not like noobs using this feature will suddenly own everybody.

I think a a keyboard shortcut would be more suited for this then automatically.

Then again it really is a skill to switch weapons correctly ... the same with noticing when your ammo is (or nearly is) depleted.

I'd rather have this within the "offical" client, as some people having an unfair advantage by using a modified client.

i think ists better to make small weapon avatars in a corner when you have a wepon with amoo ther are in colour and when you daont have ammo of this wepon the avatars are grey or black

I agree with those who are saying that having weapons automatically swap when you run out of ammo would take away from the game.  It makes you pay attention.  I frequently am doing well and realize I run out of ammo after I died.  It stinks, but it was my fault.

Having a list of weapons your tee has, as someone suggested, I do like.  It would add to the GUI, but not totally necessary.

I'm an instant addict of Teeworlds. I'm currently hosting "Brad's House of Pain (bHOP)," a New England based server.

I used to like the idea of this. but i think its much more fun playing  witout a notifier. It would be a nice feature if you could turn it on or off though
