Topic: weird Resolution related Hall of mirrors Bug

I'm running teeworlds 4.3 on Kubuntu 8.04 here and I'm getting the hall of mirrors bug.
I do use the clear option of course, but the yellow is still ugly.
I have a dual head setup which means I have a screen Resolution of 3360x1050. I usualy play in a 800x600 window because fullscreen is practically unplayable.

It is my understanding that the hall of mirrors bug normaly means a buggy map, but the bug i get appears on stock maps as well.

Furthermore the appearance of the bug seems to be dependant on the position of my Teeworlds Window on my Desktop:

If the window is in the top left corner of my screen, the bug appears almost everywhere on the map except a small space to the top left.
If the window is in the bottom left corner of my screen, the bug appears almost everywhere except the far left of the map.
If the window is in the top right corner of my screen, the bug appears almost everywhere except the top of the map.
If the window is in the bottom right corner of my screen, the bug appears almost nowhere on the map except a small space to the bottom right.

I think it's the resolution, because I have tested the exact same teeworlds whith same settings.cfg on my Laptop which also runs Kubuntu 8.04, but has the rather sane resolution of 1024x768, and there it worked perfectly. Also, I havent seen anyone else report the bug and the strange resolution seems to be the most likley thing for only me to have and to be able to cause the bug.

Have i missed something important? I also tried compiling from source, but there is no difference.

Often these things are because of a badly made map, can you please provide the name of the map you are playing?

Re: weird Resolution related Hall of mirrors Bug

Okay, i also tried a few other things:

I tried diffrent size windows, didn't work.
I tried viewing the map in the editor, problem persists.
I tried the other stock maps, here's a list:

Bug happens in:
dm1
dm2
dm6
ctf1

Bug doesn't happen in:
ctf2 (i don't know why)

note that this is not only on my own local server, but also when i play on these maps in the internet. I haven't specifically tested other maps yet, but I think the problem exists on most.

I'm having the same problem too
If you take a look closer, you'll notice that there are other threads for the same problem.

Re: weird Resolution related Hall of mirrors Bug

ok, you got me, i guess i didn't look too carefully.
I'll try that in a bit. I'm curious, do you also have a nonstandard resolution?

Edit:
Yay, it worked! Thank you for your help.
for anyone wondering, I use a

ATI Technologies Inc R430 [Radeon X800 (PCIE)]

At this point I am guessing that it's not my resolutions fault.

Re: weird Resolution related Hall of mirrors Bug

To answer your question, my resolution is 1440x900.
But it seems that it's more like a graphic card problem: I have a ATI Radeon Mobility X600

I have a dual headed Ubuntu 8.04 system with Nvidia Geforce card and I have had no problems.

Re: weird Resolution related Hall of mirrors Bug

Ok, so i compiled and tried the bleeding edge 0.5.0 from trunk today, and this error is here again. I guess it isn't very suprising, seeing as the fix from the other thread "fixed" it by reverting some of the graphic-drawing code to that of an older version.
whith 0.5.0 the graphics code seems to have been reworked and/or moved, because the patch doesn't work anymore.
I'm just saying, it's still there. Maybe someone can take a look at it.

Off-topic:
apart from that, it's lookin' good so far! keep up the great work!

Sleightly on-topic:
Is it possiblefor me to change the title of the thread to something less misleading? I can't find the button anywhere.

concerning slightly on-topic: It is not possible.
