Not sure if someone has already mentioned this idea or not...
Domination (or Tee Control)
This is a team based game, Red vs Blue, which focuses on each teams abilities to co-ordinate their attacks and then to control certain areas of a map.
Theoretical Specifications:
1. Players spawn locations are based on team spawn points.
2. Normal spawn stats for each players; life (10), armor (0) and weapons (Hammer + Gun).
3. Fighting follows the normal DM rules, including all item spawn times (life, armor, rockets, etc).
4. If a player is killed they simply respawn at a team spawn point and continue.
5. The Tee Statue (new item)
a. A medium sized (3x2 tiles?) gray statue of a tee in a cool pose.
b. Has life points, but it can not be destroyed, only captured and can not be collected (only shot at).
c. Each statue in the map starts with 0 life points. A statue is captured by shooting it.
d. If a red player shoots a statue, that statue gains (max +10) life points based on the damage delt out by the weapon used. If the statue has +ve life points it glows red in colour to indicate that it has been captured by the red team.
e. If a blue player shoots a statue, that statue loses (min -10) life points based on the damage delt out by the weapon used. If the statue has -ve life points it glows blue in colour to indicate that it has been captured by the blue team.
f. Statues can be repeatedly captured, lost or returned to neutral (0 life points).
g. The first team to capture all statues within the map wins the round!
The mode would need to be play tested alot, but 3 or 4 statues per map would probably be best for teams of 4v4 or more.
Example of statue life points:
A red player shoots a statue with a gun and does 1 point damage, the statue then has +1 life and belongs to the red team.
The red player shoots the statue again with a rocket and does another 5 points damage, the status now has +6 life.
The red player shoots the status a second time with the rocket for another 5 points damage, the statue now has +10 life points (not +11), +10 is the maximum possible.
A blue player now arrives and shoots the statue with a rocket and does 5 points damage, the statue now only as +5 life, but still belongs to the red team!
The blue player shoots again with the rocket doing another 5 points damage, now the statue has 0 life points and is neutral (captured by no team).
The blue player shoots the statue a third time with a rocket and does another 5 points damage, the statue now has -5 points and has been captured by the blue team.
