Topic: Internet Server hosting Problem

Hi,
Sorry for my bad English. Now the question:
When I host a server I always see the error that you can't connect to my server.
It says I should forward port 8303.
But I have forwarded this port Tcp AND Udp
And it doesn't work. My Firewall lets  Teewars pass throug all ports
What shall I do?

Re: Internet Server hosting Problem

Can you see your server in the master listing?

I have noticed that I can not connect to make own server via the internet menu, others can. When I the LAN menu it works.

Re: Internet Server hosting Problem

When I use the Lan menu I can connect to my server.
I don't see my server in the internet List.
Hm.. But there's this error in the cmd-console.
Error: Others can't connect ...
Error: .... open udp 8303 .....

Re: Internet Server hosting Problem

ok, that would suggest that the master server can not reach your server.

I have a Netgear router, in this router I set the following in the Port Forwarding menu:
Service Name: Teewars
Starting Port: 8303
Ending Port: 8303
Server IP Address: 192.168.0.25 (this is the local address of the server)

For me there is no TCP/UDP option.

I hope that helps.

Re: Internet Server hosting Problem

Maybe you should ask a friend, not in your LAN, to try join your server. My couldn't see my server. But I asked my friend, he saw it on the masterlist.

Re: Internet Server hosting Problem

Could you test and then tell me wheather it works?
my IP : 62.227.203.35
Maybe the Problem is my firewall but I don't want to change it.
Any other ideas?

Re: Internet Server hosting Problem

Just tried ... I couldn't connect.

Check your router settings! If you're not sure, post a screenshot of your settings so we can better help you.

Have your checked your local network settings? If you use Windows XP (or Vista) it is possible that you have a firewall set, which would also block connections to 8303.

Re: Internet Server hosting Problem

Pro Firewall only controls which programs on your network are allowed to access the internet.

You need to make sure that people from the internet can access you! Check your properties for your network card and make sure that your Windows Firewall allows access to port 8303.

Re: Internet Server hosting Problem

Windows Firewall is off.
Which Properties of my Network card should I change?
What shall I do??

Re: Internet Server hosting Problem

Can Pro Firewall block incoming ports? The screenshot you should is only for outgoing connections (not incoming).

Your router settings look good ... Can you connect to your server using another PC in your LAN? If not, then the problem lies on your machine ... Pro Firewall!?

Re: Internet Server hosting Problem

In my Firewall there is written UDP/TCP Ein/Aus
Ein is the German word for incoming
and Aus is the German word for out
What does Pro Firewall mean?
Do you mean if I can connect over the Lan Menu form the other PC?
I'll test this later

Re: Internet Server hosting Problem

Try to shut down your router for about 5minutes and then turn it on again.

This made mine work.

Sorry I meant COMODO Firewall Pro, try disabling it or turning it off. If it works then you know COMODO is blocking the incoming traffic to port 8303.

Re: Internet Server hosting Problem
