Topic: Weapon Idea

I don't know if this has been suggested or not but what if we had a weapon that had a projectile that launches based on the movement of the mouse?  Something along the lines of the bending bullet paths in the movie Wanted.  Maybe someone can mod the grenade launcher to take mouse movement into account.  Think about it.. the faster you whip the gun around your body and then shoot it, the farther it goes.  It could be a good perk for experienced players to have a weapon that isn't simple to use for anyone..

Re: Weapon Idea

We did talk about it and I think matricks did a primary implementation.
If I remember correctly, it was a bit too advanced of a weapon and did not really fit in with the simplicity of teeworlds functionality.

But, who knows. Another implementation might work smile

Languages shapes the way we think, or don't.

Re: Weapon Idea

Cool idea but for players like me who play with max. mouse sensitivity it would be quite impossible to aim and release the button at the correct time. Maybe a better solution would be that you can increase the range of the nade launcher by hitting it with the laser afterwards, making it faster and more damaging. Hmm would be too hard and not effective maybe, but fun smile

Re: Weapon Idea

On the subject of weapon collisions...
What about make grapple deflect-able?
Maybe also some other weapons like grenade.

Might be a bit too annoying or not useful, just a suggestion.

Re: Weapon Idea

First, designing a weapon to be inherently difficult for inexperienced players to use isn't in line with how we want to shape Teeworlds. "Five minutes to learn..." and all that.

Also, a weapon dependent on the mouse cursor will kill mobility, since you wouldn't be able to use the grappling hook. This is already an issue in Teeworlds -- dividing your time between hooking and shooting is challenge enough for most players I've seen.
