Topic: (possible) Network problem

I seem to have a networking problem, after exiting TW my network connection seems to stop working correctly. There are either no servers or I suffer from lag no matter what server I connect to. Only rebooting seems to solve the problem.
After running a network trace (with Wireshark) it appears that the master server is not visible and will not respond to ping.
Other network access works fine, pinging other addresses and using the internet works fine.

This could be a problem on my network or PC or a bug, does anyone else have this problem?
(Ubuntu Hardy)

(later): master2 responds to ping but still no master1, connection intermittent.

Re: (possible) Network problem

Sound to me like a problem with your local network. Which setup do you use (Direct-Dialin/Router)? Which OS? Which tw-version?

Re: (possible) Network problem

I'm using TW 0.43  with Ubuntu Hardy, the network (as far as I know) goes through an ether-net switch but I think it's unlikely to be causing the problem.

As an experiment, I switched off some of the more extravagant CPU using add-ons (Compiz) and all round performance has greatly improved, including network!
