Topic: changing teams - why does it reset your score to 0?

as the subject says - why does it reset your score to 0 when you change teams?

Re: changing teams - why does it reset your score to 0?

because if your playing tdm the scores would change when you switch teams. i.e. score limit 100 tdm blue team has 27 red team has 99, one player with say 30 kills switches teams, its now blue 57 red 69. Would make it unbalanced

ah ok i see

why does it do it in CTF then? the team scores aren't based on individual scores at all there...

That's not correct. If you take a look at the sources you will see that the team-scores are independent from player-scores.

There is a patch which does team-balancing without resetting scores. IMHO it doesn't make sense either to reset, because people don't want to lose their score and maybe thiswhy don't balance teams by themselves.

really? in that case i see no reason at all why it should reset personal scores when you change team - is this a 'bug' then? smile

I was talking about TDM, not CTF. I know if CTF that team and player scores are seperate. But, I don't play much TDM so maybe it's the same...
