Topic: New American Servers - Need Help

Hello!

I am fairly new to this community, and this game is so addicting I want to host it permanently on my dedicated server out of New York. It seems Americans are a minority in this community, but nonetheless, I would like to host servers anyway. smile I just have a few questions:

1.) Does Teeworlds compile on FreeBSD 6.x?
2.) What sort of maps and settings are the "standards" for Teeworlds play?

Thank you very much for your time,
KBlair

1.) It should, I think.
2.) Well, the default maps are great in my opinion, but it depends on what game mode you want.

Try this one. It's quite old, but I think it still works.

If you start a server without specifying the settings they will fall back to default (8 player dm on dm1, fraglimit 20 and so on).

Used to be very active waay back

Re: New American Servers - Need Help

I know of quite a few guys from across the Atlantic that have complained about the lack of servers closer to them in the past, so I highly approve of your new enslaving addiction. big_smile

I would much rather see you rotate standard maps [there's 3 DM's & 2 CTF's so far] on most your servers and resist the urge of oversimplifying or overcomplicating the game with modifications and unapproved custom maps, respectively. There's a sticky thread about Teequality in the Community News forum that's worth checking out as far as balanced servers go, by the way.
