Topic: Graphic and Speed bug with Mac

Hi,
usually I play on my Macbook Pro, where Teeworlds just works fine. But today i wanted to play it on my Mac Mini and i get some graphic issues. The background is bugged. It is difficult to explain. Hmm the background just moves if the Tee moves over the screen. It seems that the background isn't really fixed.

I hope you understood what I mean and maybe have a solution.

And when I want to open the scoreboard ( also on Mac mini ), the games starts to lag and to get slower. When I close the scoreboard. Everything turns back to normal.

Sounds like the map you are using doesn't conform to the standards required by 0.4.2.

Try a game with ctf2.  Since this is the standard map included see if you are still having the same problem.  This is just a guess, as I'm not sure if this is the problem you are describing or not.

Good idea, but it didnt help me. The problems still exist - even on CTF2...

Maybe it's just beccause of the graphic chip built in the Mac Mini... I mean the other Mac can handle it without a problem. But I think i remember the time, when it worked smoothly on my Mini too...

Yes of course!

The bad thing is, there are not many Mac-User who play Teeworlds, so it's hard to analyze the problem.

Just an uninformed guess, but does is this problem also existent with the 0.4.1 version ? 0.4.2 introduced some graphic optimizations that cause similar distortions on my notebook with a shared memory graphics card.

Unfortuanatley yes. It happens even with 0.4.1

Ok, i made a Screenshot of my graphic bug. It seems that it differs but I think it's the same.

it's the crappymappy map (the colorenvelope)! not your client!

Ranoke, don't you see the background image of the upper 3?

Hmm but why do these bugs only happen to my other Mac?

its the maps fault, tried to fix that for a half hour then gave up and just released the map x)

(if you try opening the map in mapeditor and start envelopes, the sun will just look normal, not sure why it happens ingame tho)

Ok, after Ive talked with some people, Windows-Uer also. I found out, that it is not my Mac which makes problems. Some people got the same bugs as i do.

There's a reason there is no .app for osx. Apples OpenGL implementation started acting weird after 10.5 and that meant that we was unable to support an .app that work on a combination of 10.4, 10.5, intel, ppc, windowed and fullscreen. I did not have time to fix this due to bugs in our support library GLFW.

This will of course be fixed later, but due to work and other stuff I have not been able to do so.

It will NOT work better with a .app smile
