Topic: Teewars does not run properly on Mac OS X 10.5.2

Hey,

the problem ist:
You can only move the mousecursor when the left mousebutton is pressed.
The Keyboard doesn't work at all.

So, playing is impossible.

Please fix this soon, as time goes, more and more Mac-OS-X-users will upgrade to 10.5.2.

Greetings

Peter

I've also updated and I have the same problem. But is it becouse of the 10.5.2 update or the graphics (something) update that were hours after?

Same problem here.

As I said in the support thread. I can't check this right now, but will do as soon as I can.

Deeper info:
If anyone wants to try, get the newest GLFW and create a small app in that. If the  input fails there too it might be a problem with GLFW.

Works if you compile it yourself!

Works also if you press command+alt+esc but sometimes you see the crosshair AND your cursor like its in OS X...
But of course that's only a workaround...

This is definetly not true! I did, but it shows the same errors.

When I said that it worked when I compiled it myself, I did not use the build.py 0.3.4 command. Which gives the same error.

Try starting the game from within the .app...

Run the following from terminal.app:

/Applications/Teewars.app/Contents/MacOs/teewars

That also works for me. With both the downloaded binary and the self-compiled.

I am looking into this, but as I said, without 10.5 it's quite hard. You will probably have to wait a while hmm

If you need a beta-tester or anything (I have 10.5.2) just let me know.

Re: Teewars does not run properly on Mac OS X 10.5.2

Well... I really need to test stuff myself on a 10.5.2-system. Just a beta tester is not enough hmm

Too bad I don't live in Stockholm then. Anyways, if there is anyway I can help solving this issue just let me know. I'm now a great programmer but I know the basics.

This works! Great!
But I have to launch

/Applications/Teewars.app/Contents/MacOS/TeeLaunch

because otherwise, it cannot find its graphics.

This is a good solution for now, as the problem does not occour in the 0.4-dev version of teewars.

silleh tongue

You should never update a Mac system until it gets to x.x.5

Typically, OS X gets worse before it gets better.

TeeLaunch is experimental... glad to hear it worked for you. smile

What you can try to do is to change the target application from teewars to teelauch in Info.plist (in /Applications/Teewars.app/Contents/) and try to launch the app. Does that work?

Teeworlds runs fine in 10.5.3 in windowed mode.

Fullscreen results in the same problems as before.

Re: Teewars does not run properly on Mac OS X 10.5.2

It should not... As far as I know everything worked fine when we switched from a bundle.

I will have a look when I get home.

EDIT: Also, this thread is old pre 0.4 stuff.

I'm on 10.5.3 and in fullscreen it works fine...

I didn't do anything just downloaded the new version and play

Yes... I fixed that with a little script... (http://www.teeworlds.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1707)

We will try to get Teeworlds running with an app file again later, and also package the server nicely for OSX.

I have no time for that at the moment though.
