Topic: New Map Announcment & Landil and Lappi please read!

Hi all...
inspirated by battlehymn i wanted to create a map to. Battlehymn offers me a new side of teeworlds.all this little animations are amazing! and the graphics inspirated me a lot! a few weeks ago i saw the map with the day-night rythm! untill then i know that teeworls has much potential. Now i want to create with all stuff i know whats possible like the day and night rythm or the spinning waterwheel and and and...inspirated by the battlehymn-graphics i thought of an babarian vs. romans map..i already have a layout but i draw it on a piece of paper so i cant show it to u now.
now i hope i will become muuuuch help to make this possible and make one of the greatest maps ever! i know that its possible because we have many "designer". I havnt got much expirience with mapping so i need help with all this animations...i hope lappi and landil you will help me and i hope i can use ur waterweel). now i have talked a lot. here is a little graphic. its my FIRST work with inkscape and i hope u like it..its the first step to realize this map...so pls i need help!!!

Of course I will help, if I find some time. Battle hymn was a project, which was only possible, because we were twosome. But it took a lot of time and I have a lot of work to do in real life at present.

Therefore: I help as much as i can, but do not expect too much. smile

yeah of course..thx! i will make the graphics on my own and mapping..i will try but i dont know how to make animations so therefore i need help!

I would be pleased if you could scan your sketches and publish 'em

Maybe we can go on as follows:
1. Develop a concept of the map.
2. discussion of the map (maybe a simple testmap with no fx and simple tiles)
3. Definition of the requirements (Size, Mod-use etc.; gfx-design-rules to standardise appearance)
4. Definition of which gfx need to be drawn
5. --> who draws which graphic
6. optimisation of layers
7. Map creation
8. Beta testing

What do you think?

i thougt the same..but the sketch isnt ready and its not very exact but i can scan it and publish it...but it doesnt look so good. dont expect so much^^ and at the other: THANKS for helping!!!

Very nice idea, but I think it's too big.
I observe the battlehymn server and I can see, that it is most fun to play with 12 players. (At present the teeworld maximum sad ) Additionally there's a lot of player fluctuation which reduces the possibility of strategic playing. We designed the map for 10 vs. 10, but it is not yet possible and as we can see not desired.

Therefore I would suggest to make a smaller map, with more details.
--> I would prefer the left sheet. If i find some time i will do a sketch

just use solid stones for this map! We do not need any background etc.

Do an alpha on InkScape (trace on your drawing & add basics colors)

If you are in need of testers (don't think you are with that map!) i'm up for it! I can part-time host it too if you need. (Cant host it 24/7, I have mixtered too much with the CPU speed (overheating))

@lappi: nice skin...(but i like my one more^^) ..we need babarien skins too! i think i will try to make an alpha version..lappi or landil: can u help me with the teleports?
and which size might the map have? what do you thik by looing at the sketch?

sure i can help with the teleports!
you need to copy this entities.png into x:\...\Teeworlds\data\editor\

Then you can use the blue and yellow teleporter tiles on the game layer. Tees will be teleported from the blue number to the yellow number, but not backwards. So normally you will need 2 numbers for "there and back again" XD

If you wanna test it yourself, you need this modded server: http://rajhshanks.free.fr/teeworlds/tee … v_race.exe
And add the following commands to the .cfg:
sv_race_mod 0
sv_teleport 1

Besides: the green tiles are the unhookable tiles.

I think you people should try make a really good DM map too, battlehymn is ctf/tdm but there is dm map in that style, try to make an intense dm map, dm is played more too.

alpha is ready.it goes faster i thought and everything works perfect! i didnt thougt taht this map will be "so small" i dont know if its good for ctf(but i think it will work)...so u can use the map for dm too!!!
how to make a killzone?
the alpha is VVVVVVEEEEERRRRYYYYY basic but for a first impression its ok. i cant make a screen on mapeditor because i dont know why^^
i think we should test the alpha soon.
