Topic: [map] Battlehymn CTF

Lappi and me finished beta-testing, so here is it!

A brand new 12+ CTF map with a lot of new graphics and an interesting game play. You need a homing mod server to host (! not to play) the map, because of the teleport and unhookable tiles.

Test it, enjoy it and criticise it. If there are a lot of complaints, we might gonna change it.

yeah sure ... would be great if so. (*ehm* May be you could? wink) can do it. We are not in that stuff. We can mainly do nice gfx.

Landil you can use race mod with this : sv_race_mod 0. It will fix projectiles.

Nice map!! I Played it yesterday on the Server.
The textures are really good designed and the effects are cool and not to much.

I think we have to change the modded server, because laser does not work normal. I will test Rajh's race mod without the race mod option this evening. If it provides a better feeling, i would like to change it. smile

*update* ... server is running the racemodded srv.exe
Thx for hosting theqkash.pl - But plz use a modded srv.exe, even if it's instagib. The unhookable tiles and telport tiles are urgently needed.

Very nice tiles. As for size optimization you can save about 200K if you will remove embedded native tiles.

I can host it part-time. If you'd like. But I need the mod though. (Hosted it for like 30 min with only DM on, was great fun indeedo!)

Size doesn't matter (at least today) smile

With a compact tileset that includes all used native tiles we could save layers (credits go to Landil)

It was a hard trade off, but we simply did this because of performance reasons. The map should run with a lot of details even with high quality gfx. Therefore we saved ~3-4 layers and we think that's worth it. Who cares for 200kb more or less, if it increases your performance?

But besides, i dunno understand the following: I added a picture (the little worm) and the complete map's size declined(!) by 20kb.

Lappi/Landil i have to show you something ingame.

I found an advantage for one of the side that the other side doesn't have, and it's quite a big advantage IMO!
