Topic: Listen Server?

Hey guys,
I'm new. It is quite fun so far, but I want to get to know the maps and the movement physics a bit better.

How can I start a listen server?

For example, in Quake all I need to do is punch "map mapname" into the console. eg "map dm2", and that will launch the map.

Is there no such thing as a listen server? Does that mean I need to create my own LAN server, and then join that?

Cheers!

p.s. I searched for listen server and found nothing. Excuse me if this has already been asked! smile

Official Information concerning how to set up a server. Is that the information you wanted?

No. I want to create a listen server from within the game itself, if that is possible. I don't want to resort to having to create a LAN server, and then join it, just because it is a lot easier with a listen server.

Thanks though! big_smile

Re: Listen Server?

Uhmmm afaik u have to start the teeworlds_srv.exe and there is no option to launch it by/from (damn words) the client. So I think you have to host the server via old school style.

Re: Listen Server?

There is no listen server, only dedicated.
You can then administrate the server using rcon (as described in the docs).

Languages shapes the way we think, or don't.

Okay, that's fine, just takes a jiffi longer. Are there any plans of implementing something like a listen server?

So it would start the server and everything as if you did it manually, and then as soon as that's ready you connect?

Many thanks guys!
