Topic: [CLIENT][0.7] Teeworlds Gamer

Hello!

It's here. I ported my old client mod to 0.7 trunk.
I use this all-around client to put the features I enjoy using, and PR them into the official teeworlds when they fit.
Let's go over the changes:

Instagib shield

On the 0.7 Instagib mod, display pickup shields as real shiny shields:

Game tiles

The game tiles (ex-"gfx_full_clear") were ported to 0.7.
You can now select between three modes:

  • No game tiles

  • Display game tiles on top of the map

  • Display game tiles only

Those should get graphically improved along the line, for those who aren't into Tetris looks ;-)



HUD

The old gamer HUD was ported, as well as the healthbar:

Sounds, Announcers

Announcers were ported, along with the sounds and the announcer animations.

  • Killing spree (5 kills)

  • Rampage (10 kills)

  • Dominating (15 kills)

  • Unstoppable (20 kills)

  • Godlike (25 kills)

  • Wicked sick (30 kills)

  • Holyshit (ended)

  • Humiliation (killed spree - 7 deaths)

Teecomp's statboard

The old statboard from spl0k was ported (+stats, additional scoreboard):
There are still a few bugs around, I'll take care of those as I find them.

Server browser

Instagib mod icons were added, and the server browser was made a bit more cheerful and colorful

Settings menus

As always, all features can be turned off in the settings menus:

More options to come.

Other

- The settings will be saved in a different file from 0.6, so there will be no overlap with your previous configs.
- Chat sounds can be swapped (between normal and highlight) due to popular demand
- Chat can be resized
- Spectator zoom: you can zoom in/out as a spectator.

This should be optionally available for the vanilla client. Don't make me count in 2018, please!
As a nice sideeffect, it saves so much screen space.

As a quick note, I forgot to mention:

- The Player/Tee menus have been restored in-game.
The changes are only applied after a reload of the server (map change or reconnect)
- The statboard doesn't have a Controls menu entry, so for now you have to bind it this way:

bind <key> +stats 1

To clear up any confusion:
The instagib shield cosmetics are client-side and independent of the server mod. And completely optional to play the mod, of course.

I think it was in Teecomp, didn't port everything yet.
I should also port the laser customizable laser colors.

0.7.2

The gamer was ported to 0.7.2.
I extended the christmas period until 31/12/2018, so we can enjoy nice xmas hats longer :D

The automapper rules were ported for grass, winter, jungle, desert. And it works ingame, you can reskin any map!

Damaged-only healthbar
Particularly nice for instashield, it works as a cooldown bar.

Fixes and small improvements
- Improved and fixed announcers. Holy shit displays the kill count.
- Added a controls option for Teecomp's statboard
- Implemented Zatline's laser explosion particles for instagib, added blue smoke
- Fixed chat sounds not being swapped the right way
- Fixed settings menus

Updated with OS X releases from Toast.
Also, attached, a better grass_main.json with 1x1 tiles, courtesy of Sonix :)
Will include it in the next version - a few fixes remain to be applied

Also fixed Windows and Linux downloads that were stuck in 5.0

Console input reset

The old console input reset bug was... reintroduced :D
Example: hook somewhere, open f1, release hook, close f1. Hook is not released, and the input is saved.

While I've been working on fully porting Teecomp, it's still not completely ready for integration (forced team colors are buggy), so I'll just do a small update to get all the 0.7.3 stuff onboard.

You click with your mouse. It's a vanilla feature in the upcoming release :)

v5.6 is out!

This time, we had a couple of external contributions :)

- Sounds from Fisico: UI sounds, Race sounds...
- Bonus skins from Sonix (personal favorite, the horns!)
- Reworked the healthbar
  + New slick look, keeps focus on tee
  + Shows ammo
  + Auto detection of the gameplay; hides irrelevant parts (zcatch...)
- Add client recognition for ZillyWoods custom client
- Updated to 0.7.4
