Topic: Help with own server

Hi,

I've tried everything what i could find with them Server configs etc but every time i start the Server this message Comes:

[5c2eb9d5][console]: failed to open 'autoexec.cfg'

The server couldn't find a file called "autoexec.cfg" with all needed settings, or it has insufficient file rights to read it. Create this file, grant it all permissions needed and put all settings there.

You can find a good listing of all server settings here.

Note: The file has to be located in one of those paths. Most easy just place it right to the server binary.

I think your problem may be here. Can you tell us where your .cfg is located?
You cannot add a config using an absolute path (e.g. C:\...\...), only a relative path (e.g. configs\casual.cfg)

- Open your file explorer and go to the location
- Click on"View"(top of the window) and enable "File name extension"
- Check if the file name is autoexec.cfg.txt, in that case remove the .txt

Remember the 80s - good times smile

That's because your commands in autoexec.cfg are wrong and thus invalid

I will be banned if I troll again ...

This is because the add_vote function changed. You need a string now. Change the cfg to this:

Remove the line (there is no such setting)

sv_vote_map 1

And your votes should be

add_vote <description> <command>

Guess you wrote

add_vote "exec" "dm.cfg"
...

Instead of 

add_vote "dm" "exec dm.cfg"
...

"exec <file>" will apply all settings from the referenced file. Make sure it exists!
