Topic: Weird Lag Issues Strike Again!

So, I had made a topic earlier about lag issues. The advise was to use normal TW with no clients, an it worked. But now, it returned sad Soooo... I am using Windows XP, it isn't my computer, it starts lagging after a few mins, sometimes it disappears but then comes back, I can see things like killing ( The ... *hammer picture* killed ... ) before it even happened (on MY screen), but when I move, it takes a while ( I tested it with client later ) for my Antiping ghost to move, and shooting is delayed too. Anyone got suggestions? neutral
Redownloading TW doesn't work.

Try removing settings.cfg (use config_directory.bat), after having backed it up.

EDIT: No, it didn't work. Even though it seemed it prolonged the time before the lag started, and made the time between shooting ingame and clicking to shoot slighty less long.

Sounds like someone is using all of your bandwidth, perhaps by using Netflix or Youtube. I suggest making everyone stop internetting, then testing.

I play via LAN. The problem still occurs, even if nobody is playing, and I always have nothing in the bg when playing TeeWorlds. Even when I disabled all unnessecary processes in Task Manager.

Try connecting over your local loopback, "127.0.0.1:8303" (or whatever port you used for that LAN server). This should technically be avoiding all hardware, and if the lag still occurs, I'm clueless.

However, if it does *not* lag, it may be because it's *not* going through your router or modem. So, something along the network (eg. the router or modem) is probably the issue. (EDIT: local loopback does not use network hardware proof: http://piecode.tk/php/upsearch/uploads/ping.png )

as a side note, if you have the ability to switch to a Linux distribution (or upgrade windows, but windows isn't free xD) rather than Windows XP, that would be good. Windows XP is very insecure nowadays, and might be the problem in itself. I suggest Ubuntu Linux if you are unfamiliar with Linux.
