Re: chat ban doesn't work?

It does work, it's just not lifetime ban. Default is 5 min.
Use of the command:

ban [PLAYER ID] [TIME]

If you want to ban someone for 1h, write

ban [ID] 60

If you want a lifetime ban, write

ban [ID] 0

Re: chat ban doesn't work?

it says "no such command: ban"

i'm talking about player options, - not mod or admin
??

so there's no way to permanently ban (hide messages) from a selected user client-side?

Re: chat ban doesn't work?

The mute *should* be permanent. I'm not really sure what problem you're experiencing. Does that happen when you mute new players?

Re: chat ban doesn't work?

is it possible that you play on a server where the clan tag or name changes (like city or level mod) ?

Re: chat ban doesn't work?

Pikotee, regular ddr servers.

heinrich5991, i don't understand what "new player" means, after ~2 minutes - anybody silenced is able to spam their bullshit in chat again and i have to silence again or just leave the server.

maybe devs can add a client-side blacklist feature outside of a server, in the same way as the friend list

The mute feature is client-side.

idk then

Re: chat ban doesn't work?

I think they change their name every few minutes to bypass the mute.

But... what if we tried more power?

Re: chat ban doesn't work?

I don't think that evades the mute, it's ID-bound iirc.

That's where my lack of understanding of inner working of teeworlds shows. So what if they disconnect from the server, change their name and join with the new name? The mute would hold?

No it wouldn't since client has no way of knowing this is the same player.
