Topic: Running a Race server...

Hello there,
I know this will be annoying for you to read , but I need help to set up a race server...

I am using the latest Teeworlds_gamer_client and I am trying to set up a server to test the runmaps i created !

There's nothing wrong with my server ( I'ts running, it's online and its working! ) except one thing !
I can't change the gametype to race !

When I write " sv_gametype race " into the autoexec the server still starts as DM ...

I downloaded the " race client " u can find when you use google to solve this problem xD
but it just turned my teeworlds into " not working anymore " so I redownlaoded evrything and came to this point again !

And now i'm begging for help !

Turned your TW into not working, that is not very clear. tongue You can put this race server into it's own folder, add /maps and a .cfg.  It should work fine.

when I copy the exact same files into this and add the maps it doesn't work !

that black window just closes !

I see. You can start it with a .bat file so you can pause and see the error. Most likely either a map not found error, or a port closed.

Make sure you have the maps in /maps relative to your server, and that sv_port number is opened in your router (portforward.com).

the funny thing is ... I had a dm server running with this maps until now ! just closed the server for testing what u said ... now nothing is working, the same problem even with the DM server ! the window just pops up ... i didnt changed anything at all !

EDIT: okay got it ... downlaoded this " teerace " archive from the thread u linked again ! and now it works !
server is running, serverfiles are in that folder, but its still a DM server

probably it's not reading the .cfg. try making a  text file named "start.bat"

then put in it "teeworlds_srv.exe -f myconfig.cfg"

Omg, exitex
Teeworlds_srv.exe runs original teeworlds gametypes only. Race is modification, so you need another .exe.
Take this one http://ddracepro.net/files/race_srv_0.6 … _i686.rar, extract, u will find there teeworlds_srv.exe, but with race gametype only. Put this .exe to the root directory of the game (near autoexec.cfg) and run.
To prevent any problems, add the first line to autoexec.cfg:

logfile log.txt

Then run teeworlds_srv.exe (it's race one)
If you will have any problems, post here content of log.txt
