Topic: Money for Member? Is that allowed ?

Hello!

I found a server (Name: By TestTee96 *No Lagg*; IP: 94.102.58.66:9000) where you can buy for 5 Euro a membership for ever.

My question is now: Is that allowed ? Because I think they dont can give a membership for the whole life ? So I think it's a swindle or?

I think they can do that - anyway it's a stupid idea.
I'd consider buying an account just so as to sue the shit out of them in 10 years or so wink

Teeworlds doesn't forbid transactions with real money.
But who will buy a membership for a teeworlds server? oO

Hi

I thought this was allowed, and before i recieve money, i clearly say that member is untill i stop hosting the map because i cant host all my life,

Its kind of hobby, So dont want get in trouble.

If This isnt allowed, i am ready to pay back the money and delete the paying member part.

After the last days a lot attemps were made to hack one of my servers, i dont know how but there were 3times people got admin. Thanks to the great coder i -know, its now fixed, but if i can give the IP of the hackers, what will happen with it, I kept couple ip's in logfiles.

Shjould i send a part of the logfile(s) to Teeworlds? Thanks to react

I also have another question, Is it posible to kind of copyright my mod on Teeworlds? I trusted some wrong people that shared my mod. I want to keep him private so i would like to know if teeworlds could protect it or/and what i can do for that.

It is allowed, but may be restricted by laws depending on which country you live in. You can send the IP's to the developers of Teeworlds, but I doubt that they will do anything. Copyright also depends on the laws of the country you live in.

(This is my personal opinion)

To be honest I am really disappointed. Teeworlds is an open source game and so should everything teeworlds related be. People are not supposed to pay for a single service which is reachable via official master servers. I dislike, too that you are keeping any code secret. This is not the OPEN spirit of open source.

I personally have spent a lot of time and resources on teeworlds and even when I made profit (e.g. by getting some money for drawing graphics) I never even thought about using it for anything private. Of course I donated it!

The teeworlds license permits the commercial use. But I think in your cases it is morally reprehensible. So I make an appeal to you to stop your personal enrichment. Donate your time and the earned money to official teeworlds development!

It looks indeed disgusting to see people making profit on this kind of free, open games.
It's not even quality stuff and you charge people for it while some talented guys just do it for free.

Well said. It is shameful that someone would try make money off a mod that is only available because of the generosity and dedication of others. Not just that, I cant believe someone would actually pay for such a thing.

I understand the reactions.

I thought about it and i will not ask people to pay for it, In fact only 2players paid and i have 30members on it tongue

I contact the players who paid for it and i ask how i can payback or do anything else for them.


I understand about the paymet thing, but NOT about my mod. Its coded for me, and its not opensource. Its a special thing. I am sure in couple months somebody will share his mod with upgrades but i dont share mine.

Its great that its allowed. So i did not do anything against the rules. But i ll stop selling it.
