Topic: [HELP] Only my vanilla servers are listed in client

Hey guys,

Today I started to recreate my years old teeworlds servers but there's a problem.
Only the vanilla ones 0.6.1 are listed in my Client (N-Client 0.6.1) not the servers with mods.

Some Specs:

Server1: Vanilla 0.6.1, DM, Port 8303
Server2: Vanilla 0.6.1, DM, Port 8304
Server3: zCatch 0.4.6 (fresh Download), Port 8305, Console says Version 0.6 626fce9a778df4d4

After tracing my router and client packets I found out, that the correct UDP Packet is going to my server and the answer packet for my server list is coming back.
Now the only difference I can see is the packet data.

Here's how the packets look like (incl. IP Header):
Vanilla 0.6.1 wrote:

So why does my N-Client not list my zCatch, zChaos, Infection etc. servers?

What is the value of br_filter_gametype and br_filter_pure in your f1 console? If these are correct, the modified client is probably to blame.

Don't know how to echo my config values, but in config file it's:

br_filter_gametype ""
br_filter_pure 0

Also tried TeeWorlds Vanilla Client 0.6.0 and N-Client 0.6.1 but the Server does not appear.

Edit:

I'm always using Vanilla Client 0.6.1 and want my servers to be compatible with 0.6.1, so I would never setup servers like Nodes or TeeComp.
I dont' need a modded client for zChaos right?

  • Tried the latest zChaos from iPod Clan Forum, but this also didn't work.

  • Note: I can always connect to the zChaos server by typing direkt "IP:Port" and also to others like zCatch etc. but they aren't listed in client.

  • Note: I'm on Windows 8 machine

  • Tried to run 0.6.1 Vanilla client with "Windows 7 compatiblity mode"

  • Tested on Windows 7 machine, same problem, packet is coming in but server is not listed

  • Tried to disable Windows Firewall, does not help

  • Tried to delete my whole client config Folder, does not help

Tried using a different (e.g. vanilla) client?

Yes, I tried:

  • Vanilla 0.6.1

  • Vanilla 0.6.0

  • N-Client 0.6.1

Mb try to clean client config. As i remeber, n-Client creates it's own config, clean it too.

Or contact MAP94, probably he will help you.

Already cleaned every config directory.
Please read my posts.

Edit:

Already tried to use Vanilla 0.6.1 clean install on 3 different machines and does not help

1. Where are you from? (Iranian, for ex. Sometimes have same problems)
2. What's your router model and how old is this device?
3. Was such problem before, if no - what changed since it worked?

  1. I'm from Germany. The provider in my office is the same as @home. Both 100Mbit so the ping times between server and client is 6 ms.

  2. LANCOM Router on both sides, but that doesn't matter because I can trace the UDP packet sent from server to the client and it's coming in perfectly like all the other 1060 UDP packets from other servers.

  3. No, never had that problem before. Last year I had 8 Teeworlds servers, Instagib, Catch, Ball etc. but all 0.5.2 and it worked. Now I decided to setup my 8 servers again with 0.6.1

Note:

  • Tried to check connection with my fresh compiled Linux Client 0.6.1, no luck

  • Tried to list the servers over Local Net but there are only my 2 Vanilla servers on LAN Tab

Question:

What Catch & Chaos servers are you using for 0.6.1 on Windows?

1. Did you try to run servers on 0.5.2?
Btw, i hope you know, that 0.6.x clients are not compartible with 0.5.x servers?

2. Anything changed since you run server for 0.5.2?

  1. hehe don't be sorry, yes I know the compatibility and I already tried ALL versions of clients

  2. Server 0.5.2 was old and last year. Now it's a completely other system.

Note:

Today I tried running the zChaos server on my Gentoo Linux System but it's the same behavour. UDP Packet is coming in to my client, but server does not appear in list. All the others are working fine and are listed (including my InstaGib server).

Linux release you could find by the link i gave before, i made using my vps (ubuntu 10.04)
If you are really interested in zChaos hosting, i can try to give you sources (then you'll be able to compile it yourself)

Yes I already tried the version, but with no luck.
Would be nice to have the sources for compiling it myself.
I love that mod ^^ and I'm really really interesetd in setting up my zChaos server.
