Re: [CLOSED]editing posts.
If people would put it in a good place... I think the moderators here aren't your usual admins, and would definitely handle it well. So anyway..

People should have the freedom to delete their own posts if they want ><
Why should they? It totally destroys the threads.
Well if somebody posts something stupid like "Ctf5 is a desert theme map", then they can delete it. (In map discussions)

You should take responsibility for what you write, not abusively delete every time an argument goes wrong for you.

Why would mods like you delete and edit other peoples posts?
Someone have deleted my opinion here.
Can anyone clarify the reason, please?

or they should at least be able to edit it .
You need to take responsibility for what you write. I think that the edit option should be available only for 1st post (or post marked by admin, users can ask for it), and for others only 5 minutes after submiting. Look, I do not know deleted his posts, and now the thread is completely unreadable...

[Trying to start an argument...] You should take responsibility for what you write, not abusively delete every time an argument goes wrong for you.
And how is that abusive? Like I've said, new folks just joining the forum would get confused and be like... DUDE NO" TRORT MOM" (Whaaaaat?)
And say something insane, like seen on the Grenade Zcatch instagib pro servers last week...
I think nothing is necessary to do to the editing system, it should be left the same.
Don't missquote.
Think before you write and you won't need to delete your post 5 minutes later. Write, change tab, do something else, come back on the tab 5 minutes later, read it, and decide whether you should post it or not.
im sorry dune , i think you are going to the wrong direction. Its not about something stupid people post , its about: Updating your mods , arts , maps , etc..
if we cant update the mods , arts , etc. then what is the point of having the first post ? you could just delete" the whole thread in figure of speach
Just my opinion about this
I agree with what you said, was just answering to Kirby.
oh .. sorry
Why should they? It totally destroys the threads.
I think that giving people these freedoms encourages people to post, rather than driving them away by being ultra-controlling.
How often is someone going to go and take the time to delete every single post? And if they do, they are making a statement that they feel they have been mistreated in some way, and I think that's their right as much as posting in the first place.
Dune wrote:Sigh. I kinda understand why heinrich has tried to refrain people from editing old posts. What the hell is the point of doing that? That's r*******.
Please refrain from using the "R" word. Thank you.
Could you please edit my earlier post in this thread? It contains the "R" word, and I really don't want it there. Thanks! You know, I'd edit it myself, but I'm afraid I can't!
If you want to solve every problem proposed in this thread, just add some kind of way to look at old revisions of a post. Everyone wins.

oh gawd...
if you give people permission to delete posts , what will the thread then be about.
Example:
Dune's maps
(they enter the topic)
Dune: Deleted...
Random tee: Nice maps man ! could i use them for my server ?
so , this is exactly like the not commenting on spam thread that kottizen posted .
Its just confusing for everyone

Yeah thats what I said. I donno why we even continuing this discussion, just make old revisions viewable then problem solved. Because right now I can't edit my original post for one of my threads, and so it is giving outdated information, very annoying.
@yemDX
Are you talking about "Report"?
Revision saving implemented, only viewable for admins.
Feel free to edit your posts, sorry for the disturbance.
Thanks heinrich !
Can someone please offically close this ? thank you
