Is this game being cut back to a casual game for bored World of Warcraft players? Was 0.3 just an accidental gameplay hit on the way to the mysterious "vision" the developers claim to have?
- CPU performance is worse. I had no problems on 0.3, now it's just sluggish, unstable. It's not only fps, it's cpu related stuff like delayed input, certain quirky jumps in movement. Unstable, unplayable. And inexcusable considering the simple graphics. (AthlonXP 1.4Ghz*, Radeon 9250 128MB, 512MB DDR RAM).*
* side note: that configuration is just right for every task, its smart&silent and does not eat much electrical power. i can even play hitman2 i high quality, so dont tell me to upgrade my pc if you're not able to reduce the bloat of you bloated Windows.
- the changes to the hook in terms of force and strafe-abily destroy part of the fun for me. and they are quite unnatural, as if running and swinging speed weren't related in the same linear way anymore. It's just adhereance to noobs (the loud majority of these forums, they write that much because they are used to writing much nonsense from their moorpgs and guilds) who envy the speed and skill of that bunch of really good (CTF) players I had the honour to measure myself with in the past weeks.
- the laser is just pointless in a fast game like teewars.
- the new ballistic arch of the nade launcher takes away much of the tactical use and tranquil beauty. now it's just a generic, unthoughful weapon like the ones in Soldat.
- the old elegant cloudy particle effects were just right (for indicating gameplay aspects in a non ugly way). the new effects are just bloated distracting, they add nothing but take away performance and calmness.
- why are the map backgrounds colour fades in low quality? why has the plain and natural light blue background of CTF2 turned into that darkish, undefinable brown-fade, reducing onscreen neutrality, worsening performance?
So pretty please re-release 0.3.4 souce code under a more liberal license so someone can fix the security issues in a pro gaming fork. see you there.
