tiles have a resolution of 1024x1024 -> 64x64 each tile
quads/ background pictures may have any resolution
don't forget that the image format it *.PNG

Little tutorial about "how to make backgrounds and tiles (mapres) for teeworlds"

1.Step
- getting started:

First you need a porgramm for drawing your own personal tile/background. There are many for ex.
Inkscape
But i prefere Gimp

2.Step
-downloading:
If you downloaded one of them you have to learn how to controle them. It needs some time...

3.Step
-Using:
If you have all done that, then you can save your own tile/background under teeworlds/data/mapres

If you want to use one go to teeworlds map editor and click on images then search after the one you made and do it as embedded. Then you can use it smile Enjoy!

i think you can use even what you want, if it has an transparent background and is saveable as a .png picture

I don't really know what you have written but if you want to know which background you should use, then you have to use a transparent background. For ex. if you open a new image file, then click on background and then choose transparent.

im in the editor add layers i add generic_unhookable and I dont distinguish where can walk or I can't walk in the tiles

hmm if you want a simple way just go see a turtorial on youtube just type:Teeworlds how to edit a map.And theres is no [I AM BORING GIVE ME PICTURE].YOU WANT A GOOD MAP WORK HARD FOR IT.

If you want a perfect map for your own server you can PM me to make you one ^^
