Topic: Battlefield?

Hi, last time I've played on a mod called "battlefield"... Its great, the vechiciles are great... So, who knows if the source or binaries are available? I gonna make own server.

Hello

At the moment i don't publish the mod. The mod isn't complete finished, i'm still working on the mod. I won't publish a buggy [o.O] version, and i'm not a fan of a masterpassword.
Later maybe, i will publish the binaries.

Just played this a couple of minutes ago and I must say that it is a crazy mod. But that's fine,I like crazy mods smile

Only I was stupid as s*it. I didnt know anything tongue And I can barely read the /help since the chat and console are spamming messages :\

Yes, if you first time play this mod, it isn't very simple.

most important things:

-4 classes: assault, engineer, medic and sniper. Every class has special guns.
-4 vehicles: helicopter, jet, tank and buggy. You can drive the tank and the buggy with a and d. Helicoopter flys with right klick. When you have the jet, you can press d for more speed and a for slow down.
To park a vehicle/get out, you can send a emotion with shift or you can write /e in chat (bind).
-3 checkpoints: if you stay on the checkpoint-zone you can conquer the checkpoint. When your team has a checkpoint, you can teleport you from the spawn to the checkpoint. 20 teampoints for conquer a checkpoint.
-2 flags: normal ctf gaming, 100 teampoints for a capture.

FunElefant why cant you give out source? xD I know its hard to code, but if you cant make any money on this, why not release it into public???

Im currently making a map for battle. Can car and tank get on single bump? I mean if they can go higher, if there is a slope.

Maps should be way bigger and buggies should be slower.

P.S. If you have resources you should put up 1 more server. The current 1 is always full.

Maps should be way smaller!!! Currently are too big, and there are too many vechiciles... There is no ground war...

I would love to see that as default in normal TW. It would even be nice for zombie-mods or mods that might include bots or maybe some fake hologram of your tee (like it was used in the movie "Total recall" or in Resistance3 on PS3).
Currently this can only be done with workarounds like checking every tee against the others and drop all tees that are too far away (must be done for every client, which even consumes CPU) and fiddle around with chatmessages and so on. So it's possible but no clean sollution in my opinion. For example if really 32 tees are at the same place than that workaround sucks.

Hello

After a break from coding, i worked again at battle. I found the mistake, which crashed the server every 3 hours. After 80 hours of testing without a crash, i can now publish the binaries. Here can you download it. For other systems contact me. The source is still private, sorry.

And creating noob mods from well written code is deffinately NOT cool.

But I think that he should release the source code. And everybody else who hasn't released their source code.

Keeping source private is good only in some cases, when the code can be dangerous. Like in zombie-mods, that you can make bots based on ai's. But otherwise, you should release sources... It allows many modders to learn. And this is good wink

Well... In other hand, there are already bot clients, so it doesn't make a big difference.
I think that mods only exist because Tw is open-s, so, the mods should be open-s eather.
And, Shahan told me that create bots is not really hard (at least Laser usable bots)
