Topic: [Map-Animation] Water out of standard-tilesets

Hi! big_smile

I've  created an animation of water out of grass_main:
click*
I'm using this in a new longrun-map and need your opinion.
If you want i can share the animation as a map-file, which you could append in your maps.
The advantage is that the map/file is smaller (1.5 kb), because you needn't a seperate water-quad/tileset.

It is good I like it but I would like it more if it would be blue and not green

Changing color is not a problem. wink But the water in the video should be toxic and you die, if you touch it.
As detail it would be nicer if it's blue, you're right. big_smile

In my honest opinion.. Awesome work, it's really teeish and fits to the background, the tileset, and everything around it. You managed quads very good. I'm impressed, keep it up!

I think you didn't understand my gist. It's about the size of water-tilesets/quads, which were used.
The animation is created out of grass_main.

Here you can download it. It's only ~1.5 kb big.

btw: I remember that the graphic developers wanted to create a "water" tileset. This would be a fine addition.

Nope, as far as I know no graphic developer wanted to create a water tileset.

Oh yeah. That's right: People asked if there will be a water/swamp tileset and you denied it.

While we're here: Will 0.7.0 feature any new tilesets?

okay ^^
take a look in run_easter map from TheVoo .. has something like that, with bubbles on it .. someone stole it from him time ago and put in other map (cant remember which now)

i am not sure ... cant remember very good, but when i see ur map i can only think about that one ... if u dont know yet, take a look and improove ur water with some other cool effects

I know run_easter(egg?). TheVoo used an extra Tileset for his water.
Maybe i will add some bubbles (out of moon) later.. . big_smile

cant reproduce O.o it is one tile of the grasmain tileset but how did you only select one tile and changed it into a quad ?

Add grass_main as quad.
Hold shift.
Click (and hold) on the green corner and move your cursor.
Try it out. ^^ It's a great function. I don't know any mapper who use this function except me. big_smile

I havn't seen any map (except mine) in which water is animated out of grass_main.
