Topic: Fsaa samples? v-sync??

OK so I always played teeworlds in 800x600 (it came like that) and now I recently tuned it to my screens resolution (1680x1050) and now ive noticed it is much slower and laggier. I disabled high details and the lag went away a bit.
So im wondering, what does v-sync, fsaa samples, texture compression and quality textures do? will changing those improve my lag? I currently have v-sync on, fsaa samples at 0, quality textures on and texture compression off ( I never changed it).

Thank you very much i'd really appreciate any help.

Re: Fsaa samples? v-sync??

You can try enabling texture compression and disabling quality textures, but I doubt it will help much. fsaa samples is anti-aliasing, and if it's set to 0, it's deactivated which means you should get the best performance.

What are your system specifications (processor, graphics card, OS, etc.)?

Try opening the console (just press "f1" when teeworlds is running) and type

cl_showfps 1

Now when playing you should see your frames per second at the top right corner. With vsync activated it should be something like 60 or 75 (It's actually the refreshrate of your screen), if the game runs smooth. How many fps do you get?

Re: Fsaa samples? v-sync??

There wasnt much lag with the Settings in my previous posts it was mostly when there was a lot of tees on the screen, when they were shooting grenades was even worse.  I activated texture compression and now its fine, I get 59fps,  57-58 when theres a bunch of tees appearing (i think People entering the server makes me lag
?). Anyways my problem is fixed now big_smile.

Thank you for your help smile
