Topic: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

Why don't we start a Teamspeak Line?

I have an open DDRace server, when playing i notice how much players wants 'voicechat' in the game, i was wondering if we couldnt start a Teamspeak line!

Who can start it?
Please, if your on any way able to, let me know !
If REALLY Neccesary, i could open one.

The funny about this signature is that you
don't realize until now that it's a useless signature
but it's too late to stop reading.

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

Every Clan has his own Teamspeak and they can invite people there to speak with them.
A ingame voicechat would be cooler, for some loling.

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

I don't see the Poll Option: "No! Are you Crazy? Do you know what will happen when 100 pll join one channel and start talking in 10 different languages!?". What's the point anyway? Plus... one server for all players!? yikes That my friend, will cost extra.

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

In game microphone chat sounds like a good idea! In the scoreboard, you can have the option to mute certain player's microphones. I'd say yes to in-game chat smile

Here is an idea I had, I hope you like !

I must say alias, this is a great idea. You would'nt even have to configure it, newbies could just join a game, ask for assistance from the other players, and learn to play from there big_smile

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

Interesting, i kinda thought about this too some time ago, but i imagined a ventrillo channel with 24/7 online admins who could

Hip-Hop_Blond wrote:

solve this problem)

plus this will be good for clan wars - both clans connect to ventrillo, tell the admin the time they want to start their fight, the admin would create 2 channels for each clan. Before the fight starts the clans can speak to each other, when the admin'll say "Your match will start in 2 minutes" everyone will go to their channels and get ready for the fight))

btw ventrillo has alot of interesting stuff for admins - mute channel, mute player, move player from channel to channel etc)

The only prob is the new game admins (<- thats not correct, isnt it?..) will need more people Oo
Well there is another problem, but i guess its unsolvable)

I'll show you Kuzma's mother!(c)Nikita Hrushev

This would be epic, no doubt. Great idea

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

The idea has already been suggested, in the "Ideas for the next version" topic, and been refused.
Also, I beg you, if you have to use a voicechat server for gaming, use Mumble. It's a great low-latency VoiP, a lot more adapated for gaming than Teamspeak.

I don't think the community is mature enough to have such a voice tool, it would work on other games where the average age is about 20, but Teeworlds players already have a lot of problems to properly converse on an unique language.

At the moment, a lot of clans are using external VoiP to speak while playing, and it's definitely the best solution.

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

dune you are right...

but its still a good idea!

11

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

It is actually a bad idea in my eyes. Why do something like that if it is not really necessary and other tools do an excelent job in this task (like mumble e.g.)?

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

That's like saying, "Why have forks and spoons when hands are the better tools?"

But I guess it doesn't really make a big impact. (:

But I agree, there are too many pre-pubescent voices out there, which would be really annoying big_smile

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

People who are convinced that this would be a good feature should join a random clan server. I once joined a French teeworlds clan channel and we did not understand each other, despite both sides were speaking English.

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

If you guys are looking for an international VoiP for Teeworlds, there's the Kottizen's mumble server, at millie.kottnet.net:64738.
Landil: French people, especially young ones, are generally very bad at English speaking. You'll probably have a better experience speaking with players from non-latin countries, they are usually a lot better at oral English.

I doubt Teeworlds international VoiP will have a great success though. I think the average age is just too low to have a normal conversation over these servers. However, it can be awesome for non-international clans, when everyone is speaking in his native language.

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

In game voice chat is fail in every game I know. There are too many 12y old kids screming like idiots in their native languages which disturb playing. Even if there are some ppl with who you actually could have nice conversation during the game there always be someone who will start trash talking and trolling. Thats why TS, vt, mumble are better solution.

If somebody is interested in managing public TS3 server for tw community I can provide him TS3 server 512 slots german hosted. Or if you just want a channel, pm me here or via IRC #EspaDa!@quakenet. To check ping: 178.63.220.9:9987 or espada.pl

I know few games where these ingame voice chat are really good even when you are playing with pubs, just because these games require visa card payment so there are very few kids and the voice chat is viable.

For non-French countries: Blue card = Visa card
Dune: Apologizes, didn't know it was any different in English.

There are always different Channels in Teamspeak, If you wanna talk your own Languge thats totaly fine, but there
Should be Channels like:

Swedish
Russian
French
Teeworlds

AFK-SLEEP-WORK-SCHOOL

Theese Channels, And i'm running a Teamspeak Server for my Minecraft Server Players, we are 29 People, it's not that expensive, but i don't wanna use my money for Teamspeak lines, it didn't cost that much but it was Not so funny for my wallet.

If you hear a 12 Year old Little Kid Screaming, MUTE THEM! Like alias showed, Some players was Muted.
I'm not forcing people to do it.

-------- And yeah, seems pretty cool with an InGame as well.

If you really would hate The Teamspeak, You don't need to join it.

I find it, well not "Very Necessary" But something really fun, I hate needing to stop and write stuff.
I was once in a Clan called "DJ", They had a Teamspeak Line that i had lots of fun talking to them,
Although, i left the clan, and only members were allowed.

French people who wants to speak in French, Needs to join Their own channel, Even if you arent English, you NEED to speak english in the 'global' channel

Seems to be inconvenient, not everyone has it but in someway its solution.

I guess you misunderstood whole my post. I was trying to say that Teamspeak is good(I even have my own server, read carefully), in game voice chat bad.

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

In a diverse community such as Teeworlds, an in-game voice chat option would be terrible. It would be good for servers that forced a specific language, but I can assure you, you will never find a server with all German-speaking people or all French-speaking people only.

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

I imagine something like Counter Strike: Hold a button and speak, everybody hears it. And I like alias's idea of the mute option.

And like the chat we could have two seperate buttons:1 for when you want everybody to hear you and the other for when you want to only your teemates hear you.

Problem isn't about having a server, there are already several Teamspeak and Mumbles available for the community. We were talking about integrating it on Teeworlds.

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

This feature has been declined already. - That means in my opinion that your current discussion leads nowhere since nobody seems to know why it has been declined the last time.
Try to find out who they are and why they declined it.

Re: Teeworlds on Teamspeak?

I have been on a class trip for the last days and that's the reason why I couldn't reply earlier:
To my oppinion the chat really is communication enough and to be honest most Teeworlds players aren't really very mature enough for me and I would only really speak to those that I know are mature enough. Also I'm scared that this might make the game lag. What I would really love though is to have a mumble or teamspeak for the whole community, just like the IRC. at the moment. smile

Kottizen's mumble is opened to everyone ;)
Maybe something official should be done, with an article in the dev journals, I guess that would boost the activity on these servers. Just suggesting :)
