Topic: Sudden freeze

Help me I cant play Teeworlds^^
No seriously all of a sudden (didnt change anything) Teeworlds doesnt work properly anymore. My Tee sometimes freezes for a short time with no reason. It is a little bit like lag, but it happens with normal ping and on any server. I tried everything I could think of (redownload, v0.5 and v0.6, reboot, reinstall graphic driver, compatibility modes) and nothing helped. I m runnig Teeworlds on an Acer Notebook with switchable Graphics (HD 4330) and Windows 7 64-bit as operation system.
Does someone have a solution for this problem?

Re: Sudden freeze

Great that you tried to find a solution yourself first before posting this here! The only thing that you might want to try is to delete the settings.cfg in %APPDATA% wink

Re: Sudden freeze

- Check your internet connection (dsl speedtest..)
- Did u install any new software?
- Check your system for malware etc.
- Do u run any programme in the background? (Like ICQ)
- What does your pc usage looks like?

Re: Sudden freeze

I've tried running teeworlds on my new netbook yesterday with installed Windows XP on it, not much of a graphics card, 1gb ram Intel Atom 1.6 GHz, nothing big. However I've tried playing tw with windows installed from the manufacture on it (before I removed it), but it was slow and laggy =/, even with vanilla client on vanilla severs. Then I formatted the whole disk, bought an external optical drive (netbooks don't have one, that makes them so small and thin) installed ubuntu 11.04 from bootable CD made by my desktop PC from scratch, then tried playing tw, no problem, works 10x times better smile TeeWorlds always runs better on Linux.

I'm glad it all worked out fine for you smile

P.S.:

First comment from my netbook ^,^!

I didn't install the whole platform just for tw, but I prefer having Linux on the laptop as it's better for work, actually I was thinking of installing it to my desktop machine when I have more time as well.

Now I will be able to compile not only in Windows (Desktop PC) but in Linux too (Laptop PC) ^,^!

Re: Sudden freeze

Seems almost all problems with tw are either with port forwarding, graphics or unexplainable lags.... And why do people head straight for the forum when in the FAQ's you can see that it says to delete the settings.cfg
P.S. :
@Hip-Hop_BLOND Are you thinking of buying a Mac? (Tablet PC) tongue

No, when you live in a country like this you don't have spear money for useless "toys", netbook PC's pretty much do the same work as everything else considered "travel media" only problem is the battery... 03:00 hours max (which is not a big deal if you're using it home, but then it becomes useless, cuz nothing can't really replace the Desktop PC) and some times the CPU gets overheated, but it never turns off so it's quite the deal : ) All you need is a Travel Bag, External Drive, Wireless Mouse (mb Wireless Ear Phones), Router... I've even bought a sticker (skin) for the lid : ) Some ppl even buy a wireless keyboard, but I'm getting used to the small one + the bag is too small even for the netbook, mouse and external optical drive which it connects via a USB hidden in it,  which I can use for my windows based mobile phone as well : )

Compact, Small, Handy, I recommend it : )

Never used a mac before, hate experimenting with money... + we've got MerteNor for that ; )
