Topic: [MAP] SALAD's Maps

So this is the topic I will use to post my maps, it will be updated very often.

ctf_darkforest
Gametype: CTF
Suggested Players: 3v3
Screen: {Game Layer} {No Game Layer}
Version: current - 1.2 added more pickups and made the map a bit wider
1.1 added doodads and other detail

imho it looks to close to ctf4. Sry, but i don't like the design hmm the gameplay i haven't tested yet.

Mid part looks a bit boring, only two flat ways. Aswell, your map seems to be a bit tiny in some places, f.e. at the the, there is only a 5 tees corridor. Vanilla needs place to fight, as f.e. rocket launcher's shoot is curved.

Item placement seems to be OK, but maybe some health/armour is missing, in my opinion.

Just can agree to the points mentioned before:
- You shouldnt release a map without design
- mid seems boring
- ways in base are too little / movement seems to be not smooth
- dislike the spot for the flag, you have to slow down and it makes defending the flag even more easy
- 3vs3 and only few pick ups. i think the map is too little for 3vs3 (-> 2vs2 would be better) and you should add pick ups (maybe take a look at ctf3)


However, the map doesnt look that bad, if you fix these points it can get nice. Go on!

Don't release maps every time you come up with a new idea, improve it, get it the best you can, then present it to the community.
If I was opening a thread every time I had a new idea, I would have achieved the spammer rank very soon.

@Dune If you actually play the map then you will find that the gameplay on it is actually quite good.

If you actually read my posts then you will find that I did not give my opinion on the gameplay yet. I was simply criticizing, like Slayer, that you release the map without any graphics, what obviously meas your work wasn't finished.

I would make some plants which were in front of every layers
you can go behind that plant and nobody can see you
