How can I get authed using pidgin? I'm not too experienced in the IRC field.

It will give a link to the email you specified, it allows you to set your password. Your current nickname becomes the account name.
Once you have it set up, use AUTH to login:
/msg Q@CServe.quakenet.org AUTH username password
And that's it really
