So much anger in this thread.
For a start, hello. I created an account just to post my answer in this thread.
Just a background first.
I heard about teeworlds a few years ago. In fact, Magnet introduced the game to me.
I immediately found it awesome! Reminded me of Worms, and Quake. Btw, did you know there was some really skilled people in Worms ? There is some modified maps going on the web, where the ground is indestructible, and the goal, is to do some tricky stuff with the rope, and then attack the enemy.
See that vid (and many others!) for visual appreciation : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQeNMD95lrE
So I found it nice, but I didn't really got into it, i'm not the gamer type anymore.
Lately at work, we were looking for a multi-platform multiplayer game to have fun with every once in a while. I immediatly thought about TW, and I was right ! We're having a blast with it, in DeathMatch, and Zombie mod.
So I went back online, and tried to practice a bit.
I found myself testing out some DDRace games, and in fact, i loved it. I really like the cooperative aspect of the thing. It has something really innovative in a way.
Of course, it's generally not about crazy skills (however, there are some map ... sigh), but it's really enjoyable to me, and that is cool enough!
Remember about Counter-Strike & Half-Life ? The mod surpassed the original game. Not in term of quality (IMHO), but in term of number of players.
Consequence ? The mod is victim of its success. All the douche playing on the servers all day long, carrying with them an awfull feeling, with all the "You Cheater !", "Motherf*****, you're a noob" and so on... But hey, that's how it is.
Judging the game itself, it also reminded me (now I might be talking about the race, and not the DDRace) of Team Fortress CLassic. There were some maps designed for medics and soldier, where you were supposed to get to the end of the map, and not to kill other players. It was really fun! Have a look at that vid (and many others) (keywords : conc, rocket jump) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid … 162412291#
Anyway, just to say, there are dumbasses everywhere, but they just know how to highlight themselves.
And I love the cooperative gameplay!
Long live to free software !
See you online one of these days!
