Topic: [QUESTION] Zoom

I add to my client zoom (i use my client only for ddrace). Some guy from my clan said that using zoom at dm and ctf is cheating.
Is that so?

Since u see more than the otheres u have an advantage and this is NOT fair!

Ingame zoom is just pure cheat. However, spec zoom is allowed smile

Just to make it clean, you don't see your enemy before they see you if you zoom. The server expect the client just to show a predefined part of the map, and therefore it only sends information about all players in the range.

u see tham before cuz the range the server sends the players is a little bigger as the field of view which is nessesary.

and for race mods it is cheating either, as you can react much better on the maps situation

@Slayer *gV* on race i can see all map in spec and in mind to finish it. On race i dont think so.

Agree. I included in my client a minimap feature, you don't see any tee/any nameplate, just the map itself. It's useful for race, and it's not a cheat as you can see the map in the editor or in spec.
Cheat would be to see where players are, but in race you don't care smile
