Hello, I was thinking about making a new Tileset-Alps.

I do not know if I have been able to portray the Alps, I am not ready yet, so I'd really appreciate any kind of criticism. I'm pretty sure it will not please you, because it's a bit too wild for teeworlds.

I think that is nice tileset. In-game I should not say that tileset is "Alps", but it is nice smile

first tree is totally teeish for me really good job but the other things well they look good but not that teeish .

I don´t like the mountains the colours aren´t very cold mountain like.

i agree with Marik16 the first tree looks really teeish.
The other doodads looks interesting too but need a lit a bit fine tuning

Well, I like the idea of additionnal doodads for the winter tileset. But, i hope those images you are showing us are only first drawings. The teeish style is there, as said Marik, but there is really a lack of details and all your images seems to be angular. You can improve that Messy, as I saw on your blog, you can be very skilled.

You see, I like the first tree, too, but if this tree uses the doodads, it does not fit (purely because it is too large) and therefore does not look very nice. I work on it, maybe I can shorten or remove a few branches. If you have an idea, tell me.
Post Scriptum: I am ready with a kinda House, you know, this one should be on the place where in the winter_doodads the iglo is.
edit: i changed the background to black, its easier to work so.
edit2: If nessesary I may post the SVG file here, so everybody who can help me should download it.
edit3: Lord, Okey, I understand what you mean. Ill work on the 2nd and 3rd tree, try to make them more teeish. The Problem is that i Wanted to do it a bit wild, to try out how it would look like in TW.
edit4: of course this all are just models.

I desided myself not to post any big images, I am going just to upload the SVG every time I make something new.ok, there it is:

I added a tree, One main tile, redrew the owl(<3) and added a new statue, which looks very cute IMO.
Pls leave your feedback.(especially to the Tree, would like to know if it is teeish)

Alright, the doodads are ready, although there is a problem. I wanted to test them and saved them just as winter_doodads. Then I entered the ctf2 map. The Problem is: Some elements are blurry, and some dont fit in, dunno why. Could somebody pls help me?? sad  Somebody who knows what the prob is.

Scale the image. It couldn't be too hard.

File -> Export Bitmap... -> Bitmap Size, change to 1024x1024 -> Export

You should NOT just replace winter_main and then look at ctf2. Landil had the same problem, if I got it right it is because ctf2 saves alpha information or whatever. Just make a new map with your tileset and it should work.

The tiles in winter_main 6 down and to the left 5, 6, and 7 useless. You wouldn't have more grass on top of snow. Plus, it hasn't had tile-set border fix on it yet. yikes
@ Stephanator. I'm pretty sure that if you put everything in the right place where the original have everything, I would look fine.

Well, if you wanted to replace this with original main, that's a lot harder to do. I would just give up on doing that because you need to find the right zones and squared number by number that it fits in. x] But no one has done that before. But as for the tiles, you made a 973 by 1024. For me, it needs to be a 1024 by 973... I don't know, it might be different for other computers. And, (I think) all of your tiles aren't able to go side by side making an ever ending ground, wall, and ceiling without it looking messed up. Because the left doesn't match up with the right of it, so it doesn't have that smooth flow look. I don't know how else to explain it... Just look at how they made winter_main and observe it. Besides that, it's a good set, but you might need to start from scratch if you want that smooth look. sad

Lastly for the parts that are useless...I made a image using yours and the original one:

The top one has that smooth flow look because the ends match up with the other ends. The bottom one I had to edit it because it didn't have that...but as you see, both are used in the same way. But since it has snow under it, it just looks weird. o.O
