Topic: Request to all those race hosters..

Hiho.

There are lots of race servers on the internet. But.. I would say only 2/10 of them are really nice to play.
I made a list to show you how you can make a race server:

  • Enable player_hooking and player_collision even if there are no dummy dragging parts

  • Be sure to make the new tilesets external, so nobody can see where he/she should go

  • Place death-tiles somewhere near to the end

  • Make it almost impossible to avoid them

  • Do NOT use checkpoints

  • Enable weapon_strip even if there are no grenade launchers and if it's nessecary to use one

  • Try to have a minimum ping of 700 on your server

  • Make mazes. Yeah, we LOVE mazes!

This small list should help you to make a nice race server smile [/sarcasm]

No, really.
The hosters of race servers should THINK about everything before hosting a server.

  • Do I need player_collision and player_hooking?
    • If there are dummy dragging maps, decide if you want to host THEM or the others!

  • Avoid placing death tiles after the 1st ceckpoint is passed, so you won't have to do it all again..

  • Make it clear where you can hook and where not

  • The same with teleporters (Spikes -> Back to checkpoint)

  • Avoid endless parts

  • Quizzes are not necessary, but if you want to, make a lot of them and not [Race] [Race] [Math term that takes a long time][Race][Sudoku <- WTF?][Race][Who am I without any advice?][Race][Death tiles][Finish]

I hope this is allowed because the devs don't support mods but THIS topic is meant for the HOSTERS of them.
Try to make your server as good as possible and you will have a lot of fun there because race servers are popular!

no just kidding... you are right but the problem is the hosters who mad such crapy servers will not read this thread sad

I am a good hoster XD...My servers are popular cos i let the clients see what admins can do. It makes my server always full... the clients always go for the servers that have the admins in big_smile
