I love this game and I am a big fan of it but my internet works not every day!
So, why you don't make bots?
The game would be perfect!!!

What a stupid idea! No one will ever want to play with bots... the game wouldn't be perfect cause bots are too fast, so you cannot kill them. And when erverone has bots the game would be less fun than it is now.

Lol, i try to finish them, but a big bug (a star) dont let me continue them >.< .
Just to answer the question of the nr. 1 post, there are no official supported bots and there probably never will be any. It would cost too much time, drag people away from the community and only cause ten times more troubles to debug and provide necessary support. Teeworlds is game which is played by humans with other humans. If you want to have a single player experience I'm sure there are other games which can offer this, but Teeworlds will always remain focused on multiplayer.
Besides any bots that would be publicly released would make it too easy for people to cheat in the online gameplay. For that reason any projects attempting to release automated players (bots) are being removed from the forum.
Yes and no... Good for training, but bots are stoopid... and they are not alive
You won't learn anything from bots, considering they'll never really play like real people. Better fight humans and try to learn from that.

It depends on what "really playing" is.
Is it running around without moving the mouse, standing on a place while you are shooting and using the hook every 3 minutes 1-2 times?
Actually I agree with you. But Teeworlds has way too many "nub-killa1337.//H4X00RRR"-players.

so will you be able to code them in lua? I would like to try to play against one of them

You dont really want to learn from bots. You just play against them when you are up to a challange [Unperfected bots have perfect aim] or you play against them when you dont have an internet connection

Wait who has the bots?

And I think bots might come in handy.
And trust me, but can be better than humans, considering they can be perfect.
Maybe in the next vertion.
There is a button of the side says "Training"
If you click on it, there is a bunch of stuff.
"Bot level" "Game type" "Map"
And a little thingy at the bottom that changes the color of the bot. (just for looks)
You can probably guess what bot level/game type/map, would be.
But just in case.
Bot level would be something like this: You click on a think next to the bot says level. |1:Noob|, |2:Wimpy|, |3:Weak|,
|4:Normal|, |5:Hardy|, |6:Strong|, |7:Burly|, |8:Mighty|, |9:Nasty|, and |10:Pro|...
Game type would be: |DM| |TDM| and |CTF|.
And Map would be: |ctf1|, |ctf2|, |ctf3|, |ctf4|, |ctf5|, |dm1|, |dm2|, |dm6|, |dm7|, |dm8|, and |dm9|.
So yeah....

To make bot with levels is really hard. this is because it is hard to program bots so that they have a chance of missing, and by how far they miss by, how fast they hook, whether they hook the person or keep running for the flag, whether they go for the laser at the top of ctf5 or they dominate with the never missing pistol, etc, etc ,etc.
It's very hard to program bots at different levels and since teeworlds is a multiplayer game, I would settle for the "unperfect" bot which is the kind of bot that will hit you every time close up and can move superfast towards players and flags. This will preventmany people from playing offline and will keep teeworlds a community game
anyways. if there was a training mode. there should be an obstacle course for begginers like a race.
so you can practice your hooking skills and rocket jumping skills which is the main part of teeworlds.
[Or to practice aiming. you can have targets and an aiming training for grenade, pistol, shotgun, laser]

Hum... your right... o--o
Whether or not they have a level thing, I don't care, but I still think you should have bots for training.
It doesn't matter how many people want bots, or what the benefits of having training bots would be for the game. It's simply no good for the game. I'll try to make the reasons why even clearer then I made them before.
* It would take too much resources (time, effort, support) to put them in an official release.
* They'll never show competitive behavior against human players. They simply wouldn't be able to deal with the broad range of interactions any human counterpart could deploy.
* To compensate for the lack of intelligence they would need to have super-human aim which turns them into unfair and non-challenging machines.
* There's nothing to learn from bots, no matter how well programmed, you won't learn by playing against real players. Bots will never provide a challenge you can't find by playing against human players.
There are practical issues people need to realize.
* Developers don't ever want bots in their game and will never develop or support them in the official game.
* Moderators delete any topic that posts modified clients which offers any sort of automatic gameplay for very good reasons.
* Teeworlds is a multiplayer game.
To make it short, there have never been functional bots, there are no functional bots and there'll never be functional bots. Not in an official release, not as custom content. Bots will never train you at anything, or provide any kind of challenge you won't find online.
There's simply no point in arguing any further, because we could just as well discuss the possibility that next week pink unicorns come down from the sun and turn the moon into cheese. There simply won't ever be any sort of functional bots.
