Topic: GIGA discountinued!

GIGA is a german gaming-tv channel.

I think many players saw people with names like "Affe mit Waffe_GLL" or "peddy gll"
GLL = GIGA LIGA LIVE.
Teeworlds was in Germany on TV. Every day. Live.
But now, GIGA closed their bussiness and the GLL is also down from now on.

Are you happy about this? There were really many children online because of GIGA. This is good, but also bad because there are many "how can i are host a server u helpz plz meh" kids who have no clue about the internet.

I think it's sad, because it was the (maybe) best ad for Teeworlds and on the website of 'em were like 15.000 people everyday online.

I have charity with the devs. This sucks. Teeworlds got popular on this way.

P.S. Could you make a banner for me? "Teeworlds - Free Multiplayer Online Shooter" or something like that. ^^

EDIT: http://www.giga.de/ ... And this is no joke. I know it's friday the 13. But I have a hint on that it's true: My tv-receiver deleted the channel.

EDIT2: Oh damn their server crashed.

Teeworlds was a really, really important part of the GLL and the GLL is closed now.

I mean,  if the ESL closes the Counter Strike player would also open a thread, huh?

EDIT: To Landil: AND this is also a big community related thing. MANY players won't play the game anymore.

more than one year ago my friend (grend giga fan) told me about a funny onine jump and run he came on teeworlds with this giga and so anyway me too...
im not a giga fan but i was also "how can i are host a server u helpz plz meh" kid xD

Not every giga.tv viewer is a German lolkid, but most of them

Wait wait wait...the whole giga tv stopped broadcasting???

Omg why? Thats sad because it was the only programme for gamers...


But containing teeworlds this is awesome, imagine tw without lolkids!

It is better to have less (good) players than hundrets of little kids here.

I heard that Premiere did not longer support giga. I'm sad, cause i watched giga nearly every day. It was a great tv-channel. I'm not a "how can i are host a server u helpz plz meh"kid^^

well the kids still stay i think even if their favourite tv platform doesn´t exist anymore

and i know this game only because of giga.

It's a bad news for TeeWorlds. I think that as all players the viewers of GGL are a big part of the communauty and in that way this channel was really useful for the development of the game.

Problem: Who was watching GIGA? Right, kids and people that are 20-35 years old. The older people stopped watching GIGA after the relaunch, because it was shit (and I agree). So the kids went on watching it but they weren't interested in ads, competitions where you can win 3 paper cards or a game.

No ads (they only had ads for theirself and anti-aids campaigns lol) => No money => Premiere angry => Permiere said "omfg nubz i'll kickzzz u".

I wouldn't support them making new shows. Money rules the world.

AMN is just right.

i didnt read all posts but i wanted to mention... As someone of you might know... giga is a freeTV channel from a payTV provider called "Premiere". I think giga was closed cuz Premiere had to change all security cards cuz they change the encryption cuz there was a lot of hackers who watched it for free. You can maybe imagine that such cardchangings costs a lot of m,oney so Premiere dont have much money any more. So they want to concentrate on payTV and closed giga as free TV channel. Normaly they should just put it in payTV... i dunno why they dont.
hmm the channel was crap anyways. So im glad that there are enough hackers out there who will hack the new encryption again smile
Another reason is that there only was repetitions every day at nearly every time oO...just crap as i allready mentioned

maybe this payTV provider should just lower their prices to prevent somethin like this ^^

omg... this post sounds really crappy... doesnt matter... fits to the giga TV channel xD

i liked giga until the summer 2008 after the summer there are only 3 or 4 shos any more an that was pitty
