I totally think that if the community was a single living organism, it would be extinct. Or at least only exist on a few places. Fact is, a community is the fuel of any game, but to say that a game would be able to do just fine without the guidance of developers is just madness.
We are all of big importance for how this game evolves, but I think that to let the players decide everything is the same as giving humans of every age the possibility to vote. A five year old knows nothing of politics. But, that doesn't say that we're completely bound to let everything go as it goes. It is open-source, so to say your opinion and trying to convince everyone else is just logical.
bobsmiley shouldn't be scolded on for speaking his mind, he should be praised. One of the reasons that I'm a part of TeeTV is because I want to change. I want to change the way the community sees on pro gaming in Teeworlds. I want to change the narrow minded individuals, so that they can find new things to try. I want to change the enormously conservative community to start contribute to change and evolution.
If this community was a single living organism, it would be one of the first ones to succumb and turn extinct. Everything has to evolve to be able to survive.
The proposition "I am the center" need never be uttered. It is the assumption upon which all certainty and all doubt turns.
