Topic: [IDEA] Rotating the brush

Hi all!
I saw the two buttons: CW and CCW.
It's rotates only quads.
So, can you add the function of rotating the tiles?
Thanks in advance.

No this wouldnt work i think, if you for example want to turn a quad around you can also chane the degree:

if you have for example a collision from the gamelayer in your brush and turn it for 45° it would be very buggy anyway...
so i dont think it works...

It's so pity(((
Thanks.

Re: [IDEA] Rotating the brush

Why would you need to do this?
Seems totally unnecessary to me.

Re: [IDEA] Rotating the brush

i think only a 90 degree rotating would have a sense cause then you can use 1 tile for nearly all actions and the tilesets data size would decrease a bit

Re: [IDEA] Rotating the brush

This seems kinda unnecessary. A good tileset has tiles that should be used for what they are able to be used to.

Re: [IDEA] Rotating the brush

yeah but custom tilesets let the map data size explode cause they have to be embedded

Hmm, i fully agree with Marik16. This will dicrease the map size very much.

Not categorically -- most tilesets are made in a style where you cannot simply rotate tiles without messing up the shading. Unless the map diverges from that style, the optimization will be minor.

Re: [IDEA] Rotating the brush

I would say we're speaking about less than ~15kb per tileset, which we can "save" e.g. in the grass_main tileset we could cut three tiles because of the rotating feature. But if you do that, you would reduce comfort.

But i won't rotate the tile for 30, or 10 degrees, if i would rotate it for 90 degrees , it wouldn't miss the quality.

Re: [IDEA] Rotating the brush

honestly i've never understood why 90 degrees rotating is not possible for tiles, since some tilesets do have 90 degree rotated picture data within.

user comfort is eitherway a feature the teeworld level editor hardly provides. It could greatly be improved by improving the tile selection screen.
