Xubuntu (linux) - fulscreen, minimize game

There is a command in the console, minimize that is. It came with 0.4.3.

The minimize command uses the GLFWs function for minimizing. If it doesn't work, it's something in GLFW or maybe deeper that don't work.

fullscreen apps not controllable with alt+tab or alike is a real problem since if you want to quickly tab out or if the game crashed there's nothing you can do (the minimize command is a first step in the right direction)

I can confirm that Windows XP also creates an inconsistency when you alt-tab back to Teeworlds after alt-tabbing out of it. Instead of controlling the ingame mouse you'll control the system mouse, and only by clicking one time you'll gain access to the game mouse.
