The people who would like the old ctf4 to be official are mostly instagib players (are you one of them, or do you want it for vanilla? I'm just curious you know wink). As stated a million of times, we do not care about mods. This is about vanilla teeworlds and in vanilla teeworlds the old ctf4 is a map that is both not accepted by the community and just not good in terms of playability. The most map creators agree that it is just too narrow and other things for vanilla teeworlds. This is the reason why it got removed, and why this is the correct decision for vanilla teeworlds.

About ctf2:
I disagree with you on the thing with the scratches.

To the people who downvoted the first post:

Remember, downvoting is not for showing your disagreement with what is stated. It is for marking posts that are just bad. His post is not bad in any way. Maybe he has an opinion that you find is not correct or good, but it's still only his opinion. Don't downvote just because you have a different opinion!

Uncheck standard map and standard gametype in the filter....

It is not possible.
Don't ask the same question in several threads if you already got an answer in one, even if you are not satisfied with it.
Also don't dig up old threads, this one is really old...
Also your question has nothing to do with the topic of the thread.
Please think before posting.

It seems you used a really poor translator, because what you wrote is not understandable at all.

I think you want a developer to implement a certain feature for the dynamic camera but I can't get what you want exactly. Please try to explain it again.

@DøñE:
Currently there are about 50 flags, I believe if certain flags are requested, ther is no reason not to implement them.

@fazer!:
The 0.6_trunk version contains all new features including the country flags. Maybe you got an old version, if it's not there for you. Only the new graphics for the maps and the new maps will not be included until the actual release.

There is no official windows 64 bit build, for none version of teeworlds. You should just use the 32 bit version or compile teeworlds from the sources.

@Crises: Well, just start with it, the maps have to be reworked anyway, if I am not wrong. So even if it is not done until 0.6 there is no reason to not work on that. We won't have the work for 0.7 then.

fazer!: In the current version of 0.6_trunk adding friends is already working like a charm. Clans are already implemented, too.

wapps.warpaint.: yes wink

I personally think your work is worth trying to find it and put it online again. There is some really nice stuff. People can both try to learn from it and enjoy the things you created. I know what happened to you is frustrating, but don't let that stop you from contributing to our beloved project! wink

It is not planned. Teerace is a different project with no direct relations to the official teeworlds development.

view them in the teeworlds demo player and reccord the whole thing with the screen capturing software of your choice (e.g. fraps)

It is not possible to export the demo file as a video file at this moment. This might be done in later releases.

Yes, it's definitely a problem of the forum itself, even the border is cut off.

Yes, 0.6 trunk is available for everybody. Does that mean everybody should host a 0.6 trunk server? No, it means there should be some for testing purposes, but that's it. We don't change to 0.6 right now. In fact it can be even very problematic for you, because the netversion is very likely to change frequently which means you would have to update your server like every 30 minutes to be sure it is compatible with the latest clients. Also it's very likely that there is still a good amount of bugs in it, so it's very unstable, as Dune already said.

Of course we can't force you to use 0.5 until 0.6.0 is released but we really recommend doing so!
Please only use it for testing purposes and wait till 0.6.0 is released!

  • toggle_dynamic_c is not needed. Even now you can do it with only one bind with exec and two files

  • Renaming demos is already done. What do you mean by moving? Move them between folders?

  • This is not that easy to do, I tried it myself and failed epicly. However, there is already an issue for that, but it probably won't be done for 0.6

  • No idea about that one, although there is a discussion about a complete startup dialogue, maybe that is even better

There is a reason why it has been taken off from this site. It is still very experimental and the official master servers don't support it yet. You would not see a single server. There are buildbot builds however. I don't know where though.

Usually there should be no problem with large maps other than the fact that you have long download times for the map.

It's true that we are approaching the 0.6 release more and more. But still don't be impatient. You gave the famous qoute "it's done when it's done" yourself.

That the version changed to 0.6 only means that we have gone to a netversion, which is also the reason why trunk versions are now incompatible to 0.5. However, this also means that a lot of important changes have been done. Be sure to help testing the new version, as soon as it is possible.

Of course it would be nice to see other devs blogging, but you cannot force them to do it and it's not everybodys cup of tea.

I already suggested that some time ago in a different thread:

We could have some persons(s) who act as link between the development and the community. You are doing the job very well for your stuff, Landil, but as you said, a lot of the other coders don't seem to be interested in having contact with the community at all. If we have someone, who does something like "PR" for the development team, someone who is on the one hand involved coding and development and does understand what is actually going on in the development, and who is on the other hand also active in the community.

At the moment we have a quite slow development speed and information is given out even slower. I think we need to change that. We have a responsibility to the community.

teeworlds is almost completely written in c and c++, only for the building process some python scripts are used, and the protocol is also generated with python scripts (however, this creates c/c++ code). For the latest release, a lot of the c code used has been refactored and teeworlds is now based on c++ even more. Lua is in fact not used at all. There was a plan for that, but it has, as stated before, been abandoned long ago.

Sadly that's not true anymore. Currently more and more people in the pro scene start using bots. I know it's very sad, but it's just a matter of fact. Hopefully 0.6 will help in reducing the number of bots, because the old bots won't work anymore.

@KillaBilla: The problem is still that other clients can vote for those headlines. If we really need this, it should be server-sided. So this would be a task for 0.6 as we will have changes in the protocol there anyway. However, we have a ticket for setting aliases for votes in 0.6. This kinda makes this feature redundant.
