Well, to come back to the original topic: Of course it is possible to port teeworlds to java. But as it was said before, there is no real benefit of that, and it would be a whole lot of work to do it, so in my eyes it's completely useless.

While custom servers definitely could require an account (which could only be prohibited by a new ban rule for the master servers)

This actually possible right now, too. There are unofficial "account systems". Custom servers can easily require these. There is no real way against that, and why should we care about it anyways? What's the problem with custom servers that require accounts?

There is also a thread for requests like yours: Click me!!.

Please use the search function for future questions first, and if you don't find anything post in the appropriate area.

you need an account system for that. maybe some day in the future this is possible.

Dune is exactly right. You should be asking this question in the official DDrace forum.

well, your server seems to be starting now, so everything seems to be fine.

When taking a look at the docs, you should not only do copy/paste but actually read the docs.
The server settings docs has the settings listed and there is also a description. Obviously the description is not be used in the actual settings, which you did here.

sv_map "Map to use. ctf3"

If you had thought about it for 1 minute or so or if you had taken a proper look at the docs, you would know that this is wrong.

correct code:

sv_map ctf3

There has been a try to implement this on github (I believe it was done by fisted) but it did not get included.

The problem about 0.5.2 is that there are some security issues that are solved in 0.6.0 (or at least 0.5-trunk). This is why I personally won't host mods that are based on 0.5.2 code. Also it's a matter of fact that moving on to 0.6 is a good idea because it has a lot new good features. I want to support the progress so I am hosting 0.6.0 servers only. I believe a lot of other people think similar.

Comment from Oy about server side bots in vanilla teeworlds: "Won't happen. The game is meant to be played against other human players"

you can pass any commands to the client by putting it behind the binary name. It could look like this in a bash script:

#!/bin/bash
./teeworlds_srv -f server.cfg &
./teeworlds "connect localhost:8303"

Yes but most of the players play on 0.5.2. Stop making me change to 0.6.0 because i dont want to. Its crap. Can anyone host the server on 0.5.2?

That's just not true.

Not now. I talked to Sushi already a bit. Maybe we should first check if there is any possibility on getting them into the actual game (which means talking to Oy...).

There is a network protocol. It defines which sort of messages the server and the client can exchange to communicate. The nodes protocol differs from the vanilla teeworlds protocol and thus they are not compatible and the nodes client is not able to connect to vanilla servers.

What he means is probably an application that checks for updates of teeworlds and automatically updates it and can also start teeworlds. In my eyes it's useless.

The skin was exactly the same as miper's skin , so it can't be vui's idea!
Vui just changed the colours!

I get what you're trying to say, but give him the chance to answer for himself.

There is already a Spanish translation in the latest version of the game. However, this is definitely not the correct thread to ask this question.

One small question: Why would you like to use 0.5.2 instead of 0.6.0?

This forum is about Teeworlds and not DDRace. You should ask in the DDRace forum, as we don't support mods here.

Well, it is different as the spikes on the bottom left are different, too. So it seems this is not just recoloring. However, He still definitely "stole" mipEr's idea of the skin, as it looks almost the same. Under which license was your skin released mipEr?

So what exactly are you doing? The problem for 10.4 was the fact that the freetype library is not included in 10.4 and it is required by Teeworlds 0.6.0. Are there any other things important? If you can tell us, we might be able to provided the possibility to compile the original source directly again in 0.6.1.
Thank you for your effort, I'm sure ppc and 10.4 users will greatly appreciate it!

If you are hosting the server at your home behind a router, some routers the server will not appeard in the internet tab, only in the lan tab.
